I was very worried after reading all the 1 star reviews, so I wanted to share my experience. The VBON websites states that processing and approval may take up to 30 business days and they mean that EXACTLY. My application, which was just me applying for endorsement in this state since I am already an RN, was processed and completed on the 30th BUSINESS day. No sooner. If you are applying for anything expect it to take exactly 30 business days. I did call once and the wait was less than 5 minutes and someone did answer and was polite, but couldn’t provide me with any details on my application since it hadn’t been 30 business days yet. I gave 3 stars since they did complete it when they said they would, but that is still ridiculous that it takes pretty much 6 weeks for them to approve a pretty standard license approval. Overall, not a terrible experience like I had expected.

I wish I could leave negative stars about this wretched state agency. The processing times are insanely slow and NOBODY is helpful. They care NOTHING about Virginia nurses and it shows by their complete lack of ability to process an application in a timely manner. Emails to the board go unanswered, inept individuals process applications, and the staff answering phones are rude and seem to be walking around with their head in the clouds. The state really needs to get its act together by cleaning this place out and hiring individuals that are helpful and efficient at processing applications. In today's electronic world, there is absolutely NO reason it should take as long as it does to process an application. The long delays and extended wait times really just highlights the complete lack of ability of the individuals working here.

Why don’t they shut this place down and move it somewhere else where they actually do real job, waited hours and hours everyday without any answer. Very frustrating and I pray for everyone that’s having to deal with this worst government ppl.

Yes
Better if you shift to be Medical Assistant for a better pay. That's my advise.
Ms. Murphy you are welcome to go on to our website www.dhp.virginia.gov and click Virginia board of nursing , click on Regulation Governing Virginia department of health professions. Then click on laws and regulations. Then click in box for regulation governing nursing,Regulation governing the practice of nursing and go to 18VAC90-19-160. Which states 30 CEU's and B tells you were you and get the contie educaton from . I hope that this is helpful to you. Have a fabulous day.
You can go to 9960 Maryland Dr #300 Richmond VA and they can give you a print out.
No
Good luck getting into the office they got it locked down like fort Knox
excuse me
Go online,call or write.
yes however being that staff work from home it takes up to 30 to 40 days to process . so don't wait til the last min
You would need to call them for that information. The building is closed to the public indefinitely, so the only way to get it would be to call or try the website.
Are the offices open to public at the state board of nursing
Good luck with that! I submitted 3 last year when we moved to another state, they still have me listed as active in VA and I can't get an out of state license......see my other comments....I've made 51 calls, held hundreds of hours, been disconnected so many times, and no one answers calls, nor responds to emails to the BON.
It took me a year! Then they said my application had expired after a year, and would not let me retest within the timeframe given on my ATT and i would have to reapply! Good luck anyone applying to VBON best to try a different state!
Apply for through the Va board
You will first have to find out if it is transferable. Contact the Board of Nursing in GA, they should be able to help.
You can challenge it.. Ask them about that.
You are not suppose to, facilities will not hire you as a medication aide unless your license is current.
Send a written request to the Board of Nursing attention Nurse aid certification. You can get a plain copy on the board of nuring License Look-up...not the type you would be likely to frame...but proof of certification.
If it where me I would contact the Board it's self. The Nursing Board is located in Richmond Virginia reference website. Good luck
You can go to the website and just pay the fee to get a new one
Online in person
Which country is that? Do you just want the license or to take the nclex exam and continue your nursing career? First, go ahead and submit form for clearance and evaluation. After which you can take nclex.
