Go to (or call) the probation office you are assigned to and request a transfer to the probation office for the county/city where you reside. You absolutely cannot do probation in a county/city in which you do not reside. They HAVE to transfer you. My charge was in Hanover County but I live in Richmond City. They will do a residence check (home visit) when you start your probation so they would find out then if you don’t live in the district where you have probation. Depending on the seriousness of your charge and/or whether or not you have a drug addiction (and to what), they may do home visits each and every month of your probation.
