BVSPCA's clinic is absolutely appreciated in Georgetown! After a concerning experience at a local vet, I reached out to BVSPCA to have my 5mo cat spayed. They were friendly, informative, and patient with all of my questions. The inside of the clinic is clean and welcoming. They gave clear aftercare instructions and were kind when I brought my cat back to have her incision checked. The vet even stayed a few minutes late to see us. Rebecca at the front desk is so caring and friendly. There was some confusion about the hours, as I was told by the call center that I could walk in anytime between 9-5, so make sure you clarify when you call. One of the others at the front desk was kind of snippy with me about it, but the vet was really nice and so was everyone else.

I like the fact that it's a no kill shelter.I was so sad when I had to leave the kittens there. But they deserve a loving home. Just my opinion but it's a little on organized. Could use some improvement. I would feel better if I could find out that they got a home. Thank you!!!! Marie Neiman

I got the perfect cat Nemo from there. And the staff looked out for me after I got him home

Hello! Yes, we do offer low-cost veterinary services. You can see all of our services and prices at bvspca.org/hospital - We also sometimes have grants that can help cover services; call for more information on what grants may currently be available!
I'm a disabled vet been trying to find an emotional support dog since 2019 figures that they would rather euthanize them. Brandywine Valley Spca knows this and has my address and cell phone number. I've tried to adopt a dog for over a year but everytime I try a front desk employee adopts it right out from under me the moment I become interested or someone else adopts the dog I'm interested in and I'm told By Georgetown Brandywine Valley Spca that they refuse to do anything to help me adopt other than tell me I have to pay nonrefundable $50 deposit to hold dog I want without having chance or time due to va dr appts to meet dog. So if I pay $50 nonrefundable deposit then meet dog and dog doesn't like me I lose $50 then have to try again and pay yet another $50 non refundable deposit until I find dog that is compatible for service dog training and esa to gain admittance legally in my low income 2 bedroom apt in Millsboro. There are good homes for these dogs but no compromise. 🤔
I'd also like to know if u fix feral cats and cat traps
Hello! Yes, we'll take it as long as it's not expired.
Hello! You can see a full list of our pricing at bvspca.org/hospital. Prices for cats are $50 for males and $60 for females.
They are always accepting any and all kids of help. When you go there is actually a wish list for the animals of things needed and accepted in the lobby at the counter
They do I took my baby boy there $130. for under 40 pounds. He healed great I was very pleased
For what reason?
Brandywine very clean. Dogs go for outside walks. Call police for.neglect and abuse. Those people can b arrested.
Certainly would call them. They have terrific vet staff and may have programs available to help with cost.
Yes, and I would recommend meeting with several dogs, you never know who may steal your heart, and it may not always be the one you thought!
Hello! You can find more information here: https://bvspca.org/get-involved/volunteer/
Hi Florence, the cost of euthanasia depends on a couple of different factors but we do have different options available at different price points. For more information, please contact our Animal Health Center at 302-516-1004.
Cheryl they want to give the pets to a good home and they do have pictures on their site
Fostering is wonderful but please make sure you don't get attached. It's not feasible to foster a couple days or week even though it gets the dog or cat out of the facility it can cause stress if they are in and out of different homes. If you keep the dog or cat healthy your vet bills will be minimal.
That I am sure about
Yes , there is an adoption fee. The amount depends on the animal and how much care was needed to rehabilitate the animal
I only saw cats and dogs while I was there; however, I do not know if they are the only animals they rescue.
You can use the vet services with any cat or dog. It doesn't have to be adopted from the shelter.
Yes please give them a call. They also do some.training at shingle point pet resort and day care is often good for dogs to be social and learn. I love my senior dogs that I have adopted, the shorter life span is tough to take but they are mature and eager to please. The senior dogs don't have the hijinks puppies bring. Give them a call and make a appointment to talk to one on one about senior adoption, I am sure they will walk you through it and give you pointers. Diet and skin care are two big things for senior dogs. A healthy food that has lots of vitamins. Joint care you will need a supplement for their joints.
1 yes, 2 noon to 7 Tuesday-friday and 10-5 on weekends,3 no
I'm not sure but they probably can if you call them. Hope this was helpful.
Cats and Kittens, Puppies and Dogs... Only*
I believe it's $200 for a dental cleaning. By appointment only.
A puppy is a commitment that entails never having to ask or assert the question "What is the cheapest". It's just a simple fact of pet ownership. Peace my friend
I adopted one there.
I would call but I would assume yes
No but if you go to their website they list all of their services and pricing
They alter ferral on Wednesdays.. You don't need an appointment but call them to check on the time. I think you have to drop off between 8 and 8:30.
I don't work there but saw your post.. while the weather is still warm (supposed to get to 69 today!!!) I think if you are able ir know someone who is, to take both cats directly there and explain the situation. Thank you for being aware for those poor babies!!
Take them to Brandywine.
Success follows persistence. Keep calling.
