Great folks helping us adopt two cats
Kevin
Very professional and knowledgeable staff
Mittens owo
They would not answer the phones for 3 months and I called every single day, they would not let me adopt back MY OWN cat back because it was going to the same address. I have currently moved and 3 months later they pick up the phone for the first time in months to tell me my cat has been adopted by someone else. They have not worked with me in any way to let me get back my own cat. They are so disrespectful. Would not recommend this to anyone go to Lynchburg Humane.

The Humane Society of Amherst County never euthanizes animals unless their health fails. The county run Amherst County pound does occasionally.
No sorry. There used to be but they had to be closed due to liability issues. You'd have to drop the animal off during business hours. There is no charge.
We certainly do on and off. The lap dogs are very popular so they tend to get adopted quickly. If you go to our website amherstanimalshelter.org you can see our current dogs. This list is updated frequently. I would suggest that you check often. Thanks for inquiring!
The best thing for you to do is call the shelter at 946-2340 and they can look into it for you.
