Long boat ride, excellent snorkeling on the right side pylons. Dock at 10:30, we explored the fort, then grabbed bagged lunch from the ship. Ham or turkey from Jersey Mikes. Cookie and chips or pretzels. Vegetarian option was hummus, tomato, and banana peppers on whole wheat. Snorkel both sides if you can. Beach on the left, swim by the wall. Beware of jellyfish. Then go to the other side and swim around the big rocks to the pylons. Excellent fish viewing! Short ride back because the bar was open.

I enjoyed the boat ride and exploring Fort Jefferson. The crew were top notch. They provided bagels for breakfast and sub-sandwiches for lunch.

We had the best trip!! Captain Mike, Hollywood and the crew were wonderful and the boat itself is clean, well-equipped and not too bouncy! The Dry Tortugas are fabulous, and the Yankee Freedom folks have infectious joy about the trip which makes the ride even better! Would 100% go again! *plus lunch was yummy!

The whole thing was a good experience. The breakfast they talk about is just a bagel with cream cheese and you can get some coffe in the main floor. (Bagel was very fresh by the way). Lunch is either a ham or turkey sandwich, not a bad sándwich. The castle is a good experience and the snorkeling by the south beach in my opinion was the best. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star is because i didn't like the guy at the galley (cafeteria). Either he was high or has a terrible personality/very bad humor. Try to avoid that joker and you will be fine. Everyone else was super nice so you will have a nice day overall. Specially, Hollywood, very nice guy.

I didn't see any dogs on my trip except the captain's. They might be, though?
Oh yes. The ferry has bottle water for everyone all day since there is no air conditioning or cold water sources on Fort Jefferson.
Yes, $180 round trip (minus $15 if you have a National Park pass). I just went last month. It's wonderful! The price includes breakfast and lunch for each passenger, which we found to be fresh and plentiful. The staff was great. They do raffles and provide a guided tour if you choose to join. The ferry is comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating. I really recommend this trip!
Dont take them It's a boat going to an island let the pooch sit this one out
I do not know what is considered a local. They are most likely only residents of the keys. We live in south Brevard County and do not know if considered a local.
$185 adults and $145 child.... Price includes boat ride, breakfast and lunch

If Yankee freedom has to cancel, they will refund.
They ask for any dietary restrictions at the beginning of the adventure. There are vegan and dairy free options .
I recommend that you book in advance.
Yes per person up to 4 , 15 dollars each person
It does not. They have packets to add if you choose.
Check online Google will take you there it's all the way down to key West and then parking is paid for 20 to $30 or more per day
https://www.drytortugas.com/ You can make reservations online
Zero bars, you will loose service about 10 minutes from Key West
There is a garage close i believe its $32 for the day, no free parking in key West
Gonna agree with David here. Its certainly not super filling. They have options to buy food but i didn't do that
Sea plane or ferry that's it
There is enough parking for cars, but you have to pay to park in the lot
Check the website several times a day. It is real time. When I called they said a lot of people will reserve several days and pick the best one due to weather, then cancel the others at the last minute. Good luck!
Agree with above comments, but will add that for lunch you can eat on board or take it with you and picnic off the boat. Boat stays docked so you can come and go.
I don't think so. We didn't. The breakfast and lunch they served was very complete, and drinks were available. They served 3 dollar drinks (Alcoholic/adult) beverages after 2 pm for the ride back.
Yes they provide all the snorkel gear.
No lockers on the boat or island, but you are out there with pretty much just the folks on your boat and a handful of campers. We peft our backpack on the beach when we went in the water and didn't worry at all.
I would call and ask. The only people I saw who had beach chairs were the people who were camping on the island; the chairs were stowed in the back of the tour boat with the rest of their gear.
They seem to have an elaborate process of cleaning and make a bit of a show of it when you return the gear at the dock.
Yes, you can even take a six back of beer for him too.
The ferry isn't run by the NPS, so it will be running. As long as you don't need rangers on the island, you should be fine (the campground is outside the fort).
There are a couple of vets with boarding as well as Pampered paws Abigail and stitch Pawadise pet sitting. Gails happy tails. Run a google search
Contact Yankee Freedom
The trip would be cancelled and rescheduled.
I don't know what FMB is.
Yes BUT The paid parking lot by the ferry does not take bills, change nor cc so basically ur parking and not paying and I wouldn't chance it...there is a parking garage right before that one where u can pay to park per day...its literally within walking distance from the ferry
Idk where you are coming from but we took an uber from our hotel and it was really cheap and worry free!
Take a Lyft or Uber!
Snorkel gear consist of a pair of flippers, goggles and the tube. You're better off bringing your own gear if you snorkel often. The gear is used over and over everyday they run out there.
Yes the ferry started running again on 10/02/2017
