They have shelters and open areas to sit on grass too. They are often filled on weekends at meal times.

I was there yesterday and the pool was drained. Kids seemed to be having fun in the creek though. I'm not sure if it gets deep enough to actually swim but I was just hiking and didn't pay that much attention.

Treated wood has arsenic in it. You don't want to burn that. Bad side effects. You can bring in kiln dried wood or certified regional wood.

It depends where you are. there is actually an overlook you can drive to and you only have to walk down some stairs to get to the main falls. If you decide to take a trail, it would be longer.

If you haven't reserved a campsite already, you have to be at the campground gate before 11 p.m. If you've already made a reservation, you can get in at any time, we have someone at the park gate 24/7. We highly recommend reserving campsites well in advance on camp.IN.gov, we just heard from our campground that weekends in the month of October are full. There are 10 main trails that total up to over 10 miles of hiking. It can range from rugged to easy depending. But well worth the visit for anyone!

Just found out its $20 per person for a one hour guided ride. The first 15 mins of that is them teaching you how to ride.

Yes, there are places where the creek cuts through the trail and you can wade through the water. Also great wading areas near the falls!

Hi Joy. Outdoor pool costs are $3 per person at all state parks excluding Prophetstown and O'Bannon Woods State Parks. You will need to contact our office directly for pool hours, as they are subject to change with weather and staffing. Our number is 812-829-2235.

I personally bought a Kelty kid carrier. There are very few stroller friendly trails at any of our state parks. Plus, most of what you want to see will be on moderate or difficult rated trails. I carried all three of my children in the carrier through McCormick, Turkey Run, and Shades state parks. You will like the carrier much better then a stroller, and the child can see more than if they were in a stroller.

For an in state vehicle $7 out of state $9. Or you can get a pass for all Indiana parks for $50. If you go to parks a lot it is worth it.

It was 2pm last year but if the spot you want doesn't have anyone in it normally they will allow earlier check in. We have had luck checking in as early as 10am before
