I went during closing, but I can't wait to go back to get the full experience

Spent last weekend there. I was surprised, bathroom clean and upgraded. Dead trees removed and serious landscaping. Great improvement

I went camping during the Fall Festival and the village was crowded. I was disappointed that the hiking trails were closed off. I had a great time at the campground.

Not sure but I would call and check.....camping and park probably but the rest idk
Llyod & Linda are right. We were there for 3 hours. The interpreters are very knowledgeable (the history here is quite colorful) and can answer just about any questions you may have.
You can get into and around the park easy enough but seeing inside the log cabins could be challenging as most have a porch with steps
Ask them, but there is plenty of grassy areas. Not sure about in the museum part. Lots to walk and see outside.
Not that I know of but it is paved pathways. See lots of strollers
Pets are not allowed in the homes/buildings but are welcome to walk down the paved road running between the buildings as long as they are leashed and you pick up after them. Over the years, I’ve brought multiple retrievers through the park and the only comments I’ve ever received were from people (including volunteers) who asked if they could say ‘hi’ / pet them. In my mind, that’s VERY pet friendly!
There is just old village like museum.
No entry price but suggested donation boxes at entrance to museum and village. Staff are volunteers, I believe. It's a nice outing on a pretty day.
Yes, the visitors center isn't
Visitors Center is closed and so are the buildings as far as entering them. But nice walk around the grounds and able to see in the doorways of the cabins. Was there yesterday, Oct 14th.
Yes I brought two dogs with me the last time I was there yes the leash is mandatory.
New Salem is free but donations are requested. Suggestioned donation is $10 per family, $5 per individual.
It is in good condition that is a flood area but not in camping grounds.
No, it's free to the public
Yes
There aren't any rides. There is interesting history at the park and a great walking path though.
Donations are welcome two very well appreciated there is a gift shop with food
I'm not sure, but the rv park is awesome. A lot of history. I recommend anyone to visit this site
Yes. The only days they are closed is Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
I'm not sure but after visiting this historic site we will research the when and return for another visit. Awesome place!
Check on the Springfield IL. Web site under things to do and it will tell you about all the events.
The village as it is seen now was reconstructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as part of FDR's New Deal during the 1930's.
I would go to website, i believe on weekends
