Llyod & Linda are right. We were there for 3 hours. The interpreters are very knowledgeable (the history here is quite colorful) and can answer just about any questions you may have.
There is not a guided tour here. You walk through the village at your own pace. There are costumed interpreters in some of the buildings who will tell you about it's history and answer questions you may have. We were told at the "welcome center" that it's about a mile walk through the village to their store and a mile back to where you started from... We were there for 2 to 3 hours.
The visitor center at the entrance is the best place to start. The staff there can help you a lot. The village is a self guided tour. If you want to stop and read each sign and see all the places that are open you will want to plan 3 or 4 hours. If you just want to walk the walk way and take pictures you can plan on 2 or less. It is a great place to visit. Lots of benches to sit and rest under a shade tree. I live a few miles from the village and I have been there many times. You will enjoy the village.
