I been calling this place for a week now because I have 2 cats and I’m looking for a good home for them and they keep saying leave a voicemail and the specialist will call you back “NEVER HAPPENED “ Finally i spoke with someone and she said NO We Don’t Take Cats !!!!!!!!

The one star isn’t for Sicsa itself, but my experience there. I went to look at cats today. 10/14/22. You have a volunteer in Kitty City that would NOT leave me and my spouse alone. Basically breathing down our necks and making us uncomfortable. We would go in one of the rooms with the cats and she would follow us and stand right in front of the door to where we couldn’t even get out without telling her we wanted out. I am NOT the first person to experience this with her. She has blondish/brown hair and was kind of young I guess. She wore leggings today. She said she followed people because she “doesn’t want the cats over stimulated”. Okay? We are 30 years old. Not children. We won’t “over stimulate” the cats by simply looking at them or sitting on a bench with them. PLEASE remove her and make people feel comfortable coming here again. Put her somewhere where she does not deal with potential adopters. We left because of it and didn’t even get to spend time with the cats. I posted about this on Facebook and several people have had the same experience with the same girl.

Best place to take cats other people dump or if ur neighborhood has a kitty problem. They are super nice, informative, and grateful. Do ur part. Have ur cats, or any cats, spayed or neutered.

The people at sisca really care about your pets. I appreciate the care they gave to my dogs Jax and Snoopy. To the doctors in the back they are very professional and very kind and concern thank you very much sisca.

Good question. I'd call tp find out.
Hi Kaitlyn, Please fill out this form on our website and someone from our Intake Department will give you a call! Thanks! https://www.sicsa.org/surrendering-an-animal/
Rachel, Please fill out our online intake form and someone from our Intake Department will contact you soon! https://www.sicsa.org/surrendering-an-animal/
SICSA has great options available!
You need to ask the staff that. I have no idea.
What do you mean "How do you ask the staff?"
No, but I would call the Himane Society, they do TNR's for $5 per cat. Since does them for $50. Sometimes cheaper I have heard. Everyone is overwhelmed with kittens right now because of covid and restrictions. Just call around. Sicsa has a list they will send you of places that take in cats and kittens.
There was a gentleman in news a year or so ago that custom designs and makes assistive devices for any size canine or cat. I don't remeber his name but try googling canine wheelchairs or walking assistance. You might even find plans online for diy people or get a career school to take it on as a class project.
Youll need to call them. They are a rescue shelter but it might be better to do a tnr(trap neuter & release) if they cant be rehomed/are too feral. It depends how full the kennels are from what they told me in the past as well as temperment on the cat
Call them. SICSA does help with that type of thing. We adopted a cat of a deceased person from them once. And so did our friends.
I believe you fill out a form
Yes they do
It's possible if they have room. If they do net then please try to find a shelter with a no kill policy.
You really need to have someone proof read your message before you hit the send button. You wrote "there" when you should have written "they're", etc., etc. Diaper's when the correct spelling is "Diapers".
Yes they do, plus many other items. Here's their list: https://www.sicsa.org/contribute/wish-list/
Hi Stacey! Yes we do still collect ink cartridges. Thank you for your help and generosity!!! 😁
Petco on stroop road in Kettering also does dog training
No they don’t only dogs and cats
You can call and ask or go on their actual website and contact them thru email. They usually accept strays depending on their behavior and if they have space somewhere.
SISCA takes in kittens but you have to call and speak to someone. They might not have space at the moment and ask if you can foster them for a little longer. So just call and ask, they're very prompt in communicating with people.
Reach out to SICSA by calling and inquiring about the safe pets program
Try posting on Nextdoor, also Sicsa and Humane Society should be able to help or can refer you.
I don't know about cats. I adopted a puppy. You should call them. The scratching post has accepted cats off street to spay. I don't know if they still do that service.
Sicsa holds special events throughout the year with low cost adoptions. In addition they typically have a cat and dog of the month with sponsored adoption fees. Keep an eye on their site and/or fb page
Definitely try Sicsa because I have 2 kittens they take care of for me. I attended one of their community health clinics which got them their vaccines, boosters and flea treatments for free. Because I attended that clinic, I was able to get them neutered for $10 each. The average price is about $70, they charge more for females than males but the prices are very reasonable and they took excellent care of my 2 babies.
U need to direct that ? To the center but i dont think they do
From their website: "Includes veterinary assessment, spay/neuter, microchip identification, up-to-date vaccines (based upon age and medical history), Montgomery County dog license, and slip lead. Puppies under 6 months |Starting at $366* Dogs 6 months to 1 year | Starting at $216* Adult Dogs 1 year to 7 years | Starting at $166* Senior Dogs 7 years and older |Starting at $96* *Montgomery County dog license is included in the adoption price. (A dog license is required by law in the state of Ohio)." They also have a "no pet left behind" program for animals that have been there longer and the fee is waived.
Hi Vanessa! We do offer Wellness Visits, but if it is serious, we always recommend taking your animal to an emergency Veterinarian.
https://www.sicsa.org/view-our-dogs-2/ here's their link they update it in real time about adoptable animals.
Check their website, they have every animal listed
We have several kittens available for adoption. You can visit our website at www.sicsa.org/adopt to see them!
Most small animal rescues are privately owned but can be found on the internet. To my knowledge Sicsa only deals with cats and dogs, but they have lots of help, resources, and their new facility is amazing.
Hi Elizabeth! The adoption fee depends on several factors, including age. Please call our Adoption Team at 937-294-6505 Option 3.
Good Morning. You can find all of the information and the online form on our website at https://www.sicsa.org/surrendering-an-animal/. If they are community cats, you can go through our TNR program to have them spayed or neutered by visiting https://www.sicsa.org/tnr/.
You can view all of our adoptable animals by visiting our website at www.sicsa.org/adopt. Thank you!
All of their dogs available for adoption are posted on their website. You could also call them and make an appointment to view their dogs.
I paid $50
Not true, but the answer is more complicated. They have am educational component. They aren't a drop off location.
Ok?
Males or females?! It's on their website, $40 for males and $80 for females
Follow SICSA'S Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sicsapets/ for up to date info on move and Grand Opening in February 2020
I hope they do. They are a no kill facility that I respect. I have done adoptions and foster for them. They are a great place.
Hi Maria! Unfortunately we don't offer that service. I would reach out to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
ok, thank you. I'll try calling and facebook.
Your mom or dad has to fill out a application online on the sicsa website
Thats probably more of a humane society of greater dayton thing instead of sicsa id bet
Call sicsa but a lot depends on city you live in. Some have agreements with sicsa some dont and then it comes down to if space is available. They can guide you on options.
It depends on a few factors, one being how much room they have in their building. They have a few different options, too, because I just straight adoption. You should call and speak to one of the people that works with the cats. They can tell you what the current options might be. Even if they can't, they might be able to suggest some other possibilities for you.
Was there yesterday, no yorkies. However, saw several at Montgomery County Animal Shelter in the lost and found. Call them, and tell them you're very interested in adoption if the owner's don't show up...
SICSA gratefully accepts all donations to help the animals!
Hi! Adults 18+ VolunTeens 13-17 Parent Youth Partnership 8-12 with a guardian
Hi! SICSA only has dogs and cats. The Humane Society of Greater Dayton might be able to help. Good luck.
The dogs they have change often. Call them directly, or check out their website!😁
In addition to the responses from others, check out these resources. http://www.dorisdayanimalfoundation.org/grants/guidelines-and-faq https://petguardsclinic.com https://pincincinnati.org
You can actually get puppy pads at Dollar tree!
John, you can come in any time during open business hours to view our available cats and dogs, no appointment needed.
Hi Mike. We suggest contacting Ellie's Rainy Day Fund.
I don't know. It would be best to call them to find out for sure. If they don't they would probably be able to tell you someone that might in the area.
I know if you wait until I think the first Tues/Thursday, they run specials on neutering an or spayed. Somewhere around 20-40bucks
Yes, occasionally. You'll have to visit periodically.
Hi Madelyn! We are always looking for more volunteers! From cleaning, to walking dogs, there is always something we need help with. Visit www.sicsa.org/volunteer to sign up!
Melinda, Unfortunately that is not something that we can help with. Ask your vet what opportunities may be available to you. Ellie's Rainy Day Fund is one of them, but you do have to apply.
No I rescued her from some idiot that was keeping her locked up in a garage in a big box.
You have to go by and see! They always have many adoptable pups!
They do get small dogs from time to time and may even have some now, but they wouldn't be available for adoption if they are not pictured. The best thing to do is to pay them a visit to see what they have.
Petra, your best bet is to call or visit SICSA in person. I'm not sure if they are taking adult cats now, but I don't think they are taking any kittens right now.
Call or go by sicsa....is it lost or are you looking to adopt? Look on the website or for a better idea I'd go look..in person..they open at 12 I believe today
Please see their adoptable cats section at sicsa.org. The price depends on the age of the cat. With a quick check, I saw cats for $25 and $100, but I recommend you either look at the site yourself or you and your mom visit SICSA to meet a cat that would be a good fit for your mom.
They get new dogs all the time. Check the website for what's available.
Call and ask.
You can check out the website at sicsa.org for a current list of available dogs and their associated adoption fees
Humane Society
My dog had cancer, I ended up at Miami valley vet hospital in Kettering on david Rd. They have everything you need. Sorry to heard i know it's not easy.
Sometimes. They have to pass a temperament and health exam. If they dont take them Id try to go to the humane society of greater Dayton
Hi Libba! Please visit https://www.sicsa.org/fix/ to schedule an appointment for your puppy!
Normal there is a fee and normal they are full on cats. Since they are strays that could change things.
Generally 18. However, sometimes in summer our Humane Education hires summer camp helpers.
Youll have to have them tempermant checked, if they pass that, they get vet chrcked, and then you pay to surrender them
You'll need to fill out the surrender form online and they'll call you. You can try calling them also but they don't always have someone available to answer the phones.
Hi Emily, unfortunately, our kitten intake is closed until at least August due to the overwhelming amount of kittens this summer.
They sometumes have vaccine events. But pet supplies plus does too.
Yes they do they will answer any questions and help with the complete adoption process
There are some types of assistance. They are awesome. Call them.
It's best to call the shelter directly and ask about the pet in which you are inquiring about. As far as directions you can either follow Wilmington pike up to the shelter which there is a little road just that leads to the main entrance. Or take 675 to dorothy lane and then down to Wilmington pike.
You can go to their website and it will give you all of the information. I just got my dog neutered and was able to book everything through their website. There is a calender that gives you available dates.
I don't know either. I think they want you to take them home permanently
I you meet income guidelines, it's $60 to neuter male dogs, plus $10 for rabies shot if not up to date
It depends on the dogs, their ages and condition if Sisca will take them in. Sadly, the animal resource center north of dayton is a kill shelter, so I consider that a no-go. I would recommend you try to find a rescue organization for your breed, they will find fur-ever homes for them. Many organizations will take the dogs free of charge. Good luck.
If he has his shots up to date and you are low income $40. Otherwise it's $10 more for rabies shot.
If you ask them they will tell. Neuter is almost always cheaper than spay.
It would be very difficult to keep all of the pictures up to date of the puppies, kittens, cats and dogs. It is best to go see them in person to truly find what's best for you.
Call the animal resource center.
Yes they do and at a low cost ..and also options if you have limited income and such
Give SICSA a call during normal business hours
Thanks for the help! Marry Christmas to all..
No, just cats and dogs
Depends. 25.00 to 50.00
There is no charge but they are often full. If they have space you could always make a small donation. You could try Robin's Nest, they are a rescue as well.
At SICSA at 2600 Wilmington Pike. This free adoption event is sponsored by Wagner Suberu and the ASPCA.Donations are welcomed. See you there!
When??
I'm not currently working but I want my four month old girl puppy fixed (spayed I think), how inexpensive can it be done?
Yes they do
I can't say with 100% certainty but they do have a vet on-site a few times a week so I assume it can be scheduled.
@121jewfrojoe, have you tried the Animal Resource Center on Webster? I believe they may have pictures on the website of animals found or turned in.
Terrier-lab mix
SICSA's "inventory" of dogs is always changing. They have large, medium, and small dogs. They have puppies and adults. You have to look online or go in on a regular basis to see what dogs are currently available!
