I would suggest calling the number listed.
Nope, there are no entry fees in all Missionaries, I think there might be inbetween week
All of it. The missions and of historical significance and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage places. They date to the mid 1700's.
Traffic is light except during rush hour. But get to one and hire a bike which is a lively stress free way to go.
Yes and no. There are about 4-5 missions in South Texas. The Alamo is the most famous one. They all were at one time one whole system. Today they work independently. If you go to the 'Alamo' tour in downtown 'in' the Alamo. They can better explain why the Alamo mission was the last stand. (If they still have the tours inside. Back in my day when i wanted to learn more about my town they did.) Hope this helps. Ok, good luck 😀👍
All are free, but some have a requested donation to support the parish.
No. Not a fishing spot. More of a walk through the missions, gift shop, educational theatre, and some benches to sit but no bbq pits or cooking allowed.
The missions were built by the Spaniard to teach the natives Catholicism. Each mission has there own history.
Much larger than the Alamo which is the only other mission I have been to.
This site is free to go in unlike Alamo is charged for admission. I went in on Sunday, no one asked me for parking and admission.
I am not, you will need to contact the National Parks.
We rented electric bike and this is the way to go there are stations at every mission
Corn, or maise . The little tiny ears and kernels for making meal. Fruit trees are still grown mostly peaches, squash , beans and a few other vegetables. There were many feet turkey and buffalo that could be found near the San Antonio river along the giant live oaks and pecans. Large , looking pecans all the way to seedlings still grow along the trails waterways and rail roads in and around bergs mill
Yes you can. They have parking handicap also. You can bring your bike also they have bike racks!!
Yes
The Missions are always open for biking, walking, and jogging. Gifts shops are currently not open everyday. The many trails are great.
No, you can just walk in
Yes, there is a parking lot in the front
Sunday Masses 8:00 am (Spanish) 10:00 am (English) 12:00 pm Mariachi Mariachi Mass
Has some paths that are stroller friendly. Even without path it's easy to maneuver
Yes. Not much shade, but there's a well paved walking path along the inside of the mission wall.
It's free to visit. There are gift shops at some of the missions where you can purchase items.
To what type of community hours are you referring?
My daughter just had her prom pictures taken there a few weeks ago and her photographer was awesome. The place was filled with people and in the photos it seems as if she and her date were the only ones around. I think it all depends on the photographer. But there is no fee to use the facility.
Via bus .use the website
No ideal.
Still a beautiful site.
Yes, the Alamo is downtown so there are lots of places to eat. The other Missions do have parks close or on premises where you can picknic. Do remember that they are precious historical places that you need to show respect for even if they are not religion. Show respect for the people who died defending them. We want to perserve them for our children and grandchildren to learn what it took to build this great nation.
They are historical landmarks. Structures from way back early 1700s . The settlers founded the land and made homes, colonies for their people , sacred land
Adina De Zavala and Clara Driscoll (per https://savingplaces.org/stories/the-woman-who-made-sure-we-remembered-the-alamo#.W7JzwMtOmdM ).
There are hikes there to rent :)
Should be OK except inside some buildings
Not inside the Alamo. I was told by security after I took one picture. Not even without a flash.
I saw a bride taking pictures. I assume no charge. Everyone else was taking pictures for free.
