We rented electric bike and this is the way to go there are stations at every mission
You could Uber between missions. Too far to walk but a short drive between them all.

I'd recommend especially Mission San Jose, as it has the visitor's center and is the largest. If you really want to see all the missions (we did), and if you want the climate control of a car over an electric bike, you can get a cost estimate of ride sharing between the addresses of the missions you want to see (available on Google maps) by plugging the addresses in to a free website called ride.guru. Happy planning! In the end, we decided to rent a car....
