Yes and no. There are about 4-5 missions in South Texas. The Alamo is the most famous one. They all were at one time one whole system. Today they work independently. If you go to the 'Alamo' tour in downtown 'in' the Alamo. They can better explain why the Alamo mission was the last stand. (If they still have the tours inside. Back in my day when i wanted to learn more about my town they did.) Hope this helps. Ok, good luck 😀👍
They are run independently of each other but the Alamo was the first mission in the area before becoming a fort.
It is part of the Alamo but a completely different and independent mission which is worth while visiting all by and in itself. It is now a World Cultural Heritage site.
I went to the Alamo but I wanted to make sure the missions weren't the ones surrounding the Alamo and gift shop
If you get a mission trail map, the show the Alamo as one. Because of the Final 4 being in town, we skipped the Alamo and did the 4 missions. The chapel at one of the missions was closed, not sure why.
Technically, yes the Alamo is part of the mission trail
