Traffic is light except during rush hour. But get to one and hire a bike which is a lively stress free way to go.

Alamo is most popular. I had no traffic issues at Mission de Concepion and San Jose. Not sure bout the one with the light show. Sunday, street parking is free in Riverwalk area San Antonio is a city of highways so the usual high traffic times could affect you.
We were there this past week and had no trouble getting around in the traffic. The weekend was heavier than the week day.
My experience is traveling during the weeks of the Summer months isn't so bad, especially the ones out of downtown. If you have time, they (the city) actually have bike rental programs where you could ride to all the missions, and if you get tired you could just return the bike at any location and take the provided bus back. If I remember correctly, the bike rental was like $12 for the whole day or something, don't quote me on it, go check it out though
