Incredible Animals do come out of this shelter and I loved what they stood for. Adopt but do not work for this company. Youre justified complaints will be ignored or explained away repeatedly. You will never be paid what you're worth regulardless of how hard you work. Even if you get wonderful reviews and pour your heart into the job until it has driven you past compassion fatigue, you'll probably get fired before something would change. It's cheaper to hire a new person than give a good worker a livable wage.

The girl scout troop I'm with set up a pet pantry there. This is a great place that has a passion for animals.

Yes always call first. If they are already spayed or neutered then that can help get them in somewhere. If you are not already a member join Nextdoor dot com The Norman community is thriving on there. ☺
You can take him to the Norman Animal Shelter and it will accept him for free. Second Chance does not accept drop off animals. If you have any medical history on the dog, take it with you to the Norman Animal Shelter. Given his age, he's more likely to be adopted than an older dog. (However, the older animals can be real sweetie pies. Just depends on the animal.) But start at the Norman Animal Shelter, NOT at Second Chance. Best of luck to you and the doggie.

Thank you so much for thinking of us. We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved friend. We would 100% appreciate the gesture as we bring in all different animals into our program from all different stages of life and those items would greatly help. For a tax receipt, please visit us Wednesday to Sunday from 12PM to 5PM and we'll get you all setup.
The shelter does not take animals from the public. 2nd Chance rescues from shelters only. Maybe Four Starr's has help in the other comments
I'm not sure. I believe they only pull from local shelters. If you can contact Cheryl Melton on Facebook or Hands Helping Paws or Safe Haven they may be able to help you. Good luck ☺
Try contacting Hands Helping Paws or Safe Haven rescues. They are on Facebook and Google. Please update once you find a place to take them. ☺
You need to call and ask first. You can also contact Hands Helping Paws.
No. Second Chance goes to local public animal shelters to pick animals to adopt. (My cat came from Second Chance but was found by SC through the Paul's Valley Animal Shelter.) Take your found animal immediately to Norman Animal Shelter South of Highway 9 on either Jenkins or Chattaqua. Google "Norman Animal Shelter" for a phone number and directions. They are in a new building and have a great facility. Take her on Thursday because they close at 5 p.m. and will need to check her over for a chip, fleas, diseases, etc. I don't whether they are open on weekends or their hours, so try to get there during the weekday. Norman is to have record breaking cold this week and no dog should be outside. Norman's is a no-kill shelter now, so do the doggie a favor and get her there ASAP. Take her there immediately so she'll be taken care of physically and emotionally. The cold that is predicted can kill short-haired dogs. Hope this helps. They are good people and will help the dog. Promise.
A child must be 16 to volunteer here and must have a parent or guardian present at all times. They may volunteer on their own at 18 -S.C.A.S. Staff
Probably....thay are a good place.
Absolutely! Thank you for thinking of us! Our facility is 100% donation based.
I adopted my 2 dogs from there. They're very nice and they do behavioral tests on all dogs so I highly recommend Second Chance Animal Sanctuary! They spay/neuter every animal, heartworm test them, vaccinate them, and microchip them! Definitely check them out!
First you should see if the dog has a chip. Almost any vet will check that out for free. If you take him to the animal shelter they'll put him to sleep because he's a pitbull fire pit bull mix. There are Pitbull rescues out there just look him up online if pit bull rescue
We do not, however, you may want to reach out to the following resources for low-cost (or free! depending on where you live) services: https://okhumane.org/spay-neuter/ http://www.spayway.org/ https://bestfriendsofpets.org/programs/spay-neuter/ https://www.spayxperts.com/
No only sell animals
Dogs over 6months of age. and cats have a $140 adoption fee. Puppies under 6 months of age have a $170 adoption fee.
No. Cats and dogs only
They do not take pets directly. They rescue from shelters.
That would be terrific! Bring them on in.
Yeah but then they charge ridiculous prices to adopt...why not go to the county pet rescue to begin with
Puppies should have their first shots at around six weeks of age. They finish weaning between six and eight weeks. Are you surrendering the mother too?
Most shelters have a listing and pictures of all adoptable fur babies...
You should call animal control or the police department to find out.
Yes. They make you do that with dogs before you adopt. But, not cats.
Lol I'm sure everyone would like a free dog but at second chance you have to pay adoption fee. It covers micro chip, vaccines and spay or neuter. Also the shelter sometimes has small dogs, you can check there as well but second chance really is a great place and adopting from them helps a lot of animals.
Take him to the Norman Animal Shelter that is south of Hwy. 9 and either Jenkins or Chatauqua. If you have any medical records, take those also so that a new owner will have his history. The folks at the Norman Shelter are very helpful and will do all they can to find him a new home. You don't have to pay money to surrender him, but if you can take some medical documents, and spend a few minutes talking with staff about his personality and social history, I think your kitty will have a much better chance of getting a good home. Adopting parents want to know as much as possible about a new pet, and you will be the only one who can give that information. Thank you for taking him to the Norman Shelter and not just dumping him, as too many people do.
Firstly call and ask if they are accepting applications. Working at second chance depends on animal experience, indurence, and high communication abilities
Yes. The staff would love it if you'd like to volunteer in socializing the youngest animals. Second Chance is big on hand sanitation so as to not cross-contaminate germs. I'm not sure what you j mean by "play", but the animals always need human contact. The Second Chance folks are very nice, so give them a call.
