Firstly call and ask if they are accepting applications. Working at second chance depends on animal experience, indurence, and high communication abilities
I'd show up in person and ask to put in an application. Frankly, Second Chance has such a meager budget that it relies primarily on volunteers. It can't hurt to apply, though. Seeing your face and your willingness to show up won't hurt. Consider volunteering first, and then moving into a paying position when one shows up - in 50 years or so.
