Great park workers and the monument was very well kept

Really cool site. Randomly came across it and I’m glad we stopped. They have several skeletons partially excavated for viewing.

Authentic experience and spectacular mammoth remains. Great place to escape and travel back in time. Beautiful facility. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Entry for seniors is currently $4 adults are $2 more. These prices are currently discounted and are normally a little more.
They are usually only closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. Otherwise open 9-5
There is a lot of parking available. Definitely could fit a fifth wheel RV in there so truck should be fine. There is no pull through parking, though, so you'd have to park "across" a bunch of normal spots. This is not a busy park (200k visitors total per year).
This is for the Mammoth National Monument. I am not sure why someone put the Magnolia silos and bakery as one of the pictures. To answer your question, well... I don't know. I would contact the bakery.
$5 for adults; $4 for seniors, military, educators, and students; $3 for children, and free for infants.
It was not. However a well guided tour and knowledgeable staff made our visit outstanding.
There is one bench inside the museum and some along the way
No animals allowed, except service animals
Get guided tour, 5$ , no trailer parking spot but I'm sure you could park across a few spots. Plenty of parking
Don't think so. It's more of a place where you just go and see the mammoth site. I believe that there are some camping parks not too far away. Check out the Corps of Engineers parks. There are several in the area. Not sure about state parks.
$5 for adults. Less for children and a few other exceptions.
I am honestly not sure. I would call them to see.
Very interesting and educational! We even packed a lunch and ate at the picnic tables there. It was a great time.
From what I recall from the tour, it was some teenaged boys. Then they contacted some scientists at Baylor University.
When we went a couple of weeks ago, adults were $5 and students and seniors were $4.
Yes, the day we were there
Yes. They have golf carts if you don't have a wheelchair. But wheelchairs are accepted on trails.
Inside the actual dig shelter, they cannot go in unless they are a service dog. However, dogs are welcome to walk along the trails and everywhere else. If you do take a tour and have the dog with you, someone or at least one person in your group has to stay with the pet outside. You and your group members can swap places so everyone still will be able to see the sub-fossils. Hope this helps.
Yes, but I would advise calling ahead for larger groups.
Yes very much so. One of the tour guides is in a wheelchair.
Yes, you need to get in touch with the local park service which is probably closed right now since our Government is too 😭
Yes, they have city workers running the park during the shutdown
Yes, the primary site is. Although, they have made it in a way that can be moved or altered as and when needed. Its amazing how they have preserved the original site for public display.
Unknown but unlikely. As a national monument probably closed Christmas day
Tours are toted as averaging 45 min so prolly about an hour for many but I imagine it depends on the visitors.
They have a large golf cart type ride for anyone that wants it. The walking path is an easy walk with places to sit and take in the beauty. So you choose the amount of walking you want to do.
It is one building, the tour takes approximately 45 mins
Yes. It is an indoor tour mostly
As long as you want really, they will let you look and ask as many questions as you'd like
It's a short outside tour but once you get to the site of the bones it's an in closed area with a/c. Very comfortable. I have problems with the heat as well and I stayed in the cool area until I cooled down
So you and you grandson can go anytime and join a tour group. The tour itself is conducted with the group (and you need to be part of a tour to get in) and then once everything is concluded, you can wonder around on your own. So yes and no? You don't have to bring a ton of people, but you will join others visiting the site.
Yes. Just don't lean over the railing while taking your pics. If you drop your camera, it will be a problem.
There are National Monument patches available for purchase.
$0 to get into the park itself, but all tours are guided. $5 adults, $4 student, senior, military, educator (with IDs), $3 Children (Pre-K through 6th). Kids 3 & Under Are Free.
Agree with previous answer. There is limited space for a few large big rigs
Adults $5 Children 7th grade thru college $4 children preK thru 6th grade $3
Yes there are. I did not use them so I don't remember how many. Note that you can't take food or liquids inside the mammoth shelter area
You can take your dog to the site, but as others have said not on the tour unless it is a service animal.
Adults: $5 Seniors (over 60): $4 Military (with ID): $4 Educators (with ID): $4 Students (7th grade through college): $4 Children (PreK through 6th grade): $3 Infants (ages 3 and under): Free
The unguided tours are basically of the park for the hiking trail, etc. Guided tour is only way to see the mammoths. There is a charge for that.
Mammoth Waco is a primary university site with NPS umbrella so passes do NOT help but the small fee is well worth it. It goes to maintaining an amazing place
A golf cart is provided for a large portion of the walk down to the building that houses the fossils. A few benches are present in the building itself. The fossils can be viewed from a balcony positioned above the fossils. The golf cart does not go into the building. The walking distance inside the building is about 50'
Was five dollar per person but $4 with military discount. Well worth the $8 we spent...
