They will recommend that you set up a cloud service and as long as you remember your apple ID and password the store will assist you with transferring data. They just assisted me with my daughters phone about a month ago. They are fast and knowledgeable.

I went to the Apple store this week. My ipad was doing the same thing. They ran diagnostics and it was my battery. And as you know, on ipad, you cant replace parts. But Apple offered me a brand new (not refurbished) replacement, exactly like what I have, at a really good price.

If they have them in stock you'll be able to get it completed the same day, but I would call the store to verify they have them in stock the day before or day of so you don't waste your time. You can also mail in your iPhone yourself for replacement but the turnaround is a few days.

You have to call your local apples stores number and everything the robot says, just say “speak to a representative” over and over again when it asks you stuff and then it will transfer you to a specialist but only when the store is open. But if it asks you what item your calling about just say what your calling about then keep saying “take me to a representative” when it asks you other things.

You can't "drop off". You have to be there when they service your device. You can call Apple, schedule online or walk in to make an appointment. Some times, i don't know depending on what they'll wait on you without an appointment. I've been told by a rep that they don't turn anyone away!!! I made an appointment online and specified that I wanted my battery changed. Went in for my appointment and they did not have my battery in stock and said it was “against their privacy policy” for them to contact me to tell me. They ordered me a battery for the $29 and said it would be in stock within five days or so. Today (fifteen days later) they emailed me that the battery is in stock and I have to come in before Monday or they will give my part away. They will not allow you to make an appointment for the battery change and require about 1.5 hours, per the employee.

Appointments are highly recommended, especially, at this time of the year. They are always crowded but makes it 10 X more during the holidays. If you know exactly what you want and don't need set up and guidance on how to operate the new phone, you can just pick out the phone yourself, take it to your carrier or just call them to activate it and transfer your files and data to the new one. You can also purchase the exact phone you want through your carrier. They're all the same prices. You might also get incentives from your carrier for getting a new phone, like trade-in credit.

Yup it is stupid. After waiting for an appointment, driving 45 minutes to get there, waiting another 30 when I got there. They had no more information or suggestions for my problem than those I found on the Internet. Don't waste your time....just google it.
