It was a hot day and the shade was appreciated. Been wanting to see this since I heard of it. Beautiful. Didn't disappoint. Short ride across and back. On the way back, the people who took the center view, should have moved to the outside and let others move in. Gotta have a park pass or it costs $17.00 to get in. They allow well behaved dogs like ours!

Beautiful and accessible by all! There is no long hike to enjoy this place. It is fully interactive for kids, who get to operate the boat all by themselves. This was unforgettable.

Beautiful! Weekdays are less busy. They have a gift shop too. We only had to wait 15 minutes for the raft. The park ranger in charge of the raft was full of tons of awesome Info about the springs.
Jessica “SnowDogs” Hatch
This place is pet friendly, which is an extra star from us! Dogs are not allowed inside the gift shop, as to be expected, but they are allowed in the park, and even on the raft! This place is amazing, now matter what time of the year you …

No swimming this is a clear and clean spring, We'd like to keep it that way...
I was there on Thursday. Everything was open, including the raft.
Year round-- we went on Saturday and there were staff to spin the wheel....they are not always there to do it for you.
No charge, just state park passport and handicap accessible
No not at all, you may be able to park on the road before the booth and walk in. I did see some RVs doing that
When you're on the ferry the ranger who operates it feeds the fish twice so everyone can get a nice picture.
No u get to run the raft your self it's all done by cables and a big wheel
Yes, only 15, 20 minutes when not busy. The line does go pretty quick though. It's more of a rectangle raft with a safe opening in the middle you can look down in the water. You can see where the fresh springs feed the river, very clear water, very cool
Not long. You pilot the raft and go at your own pace. Raft holds about 20 people. Very enjoyable and worth the trip. Go early, lines can get long quickly and may have an hour or more wait in line. We went early and had about a 20 minute wait.
We visited June 12, 2021 was free for everyone. But worthy visiting using rec passport.
Yes. The water stays a constant 45° so it never freezes over. However if it's a cloudy day its difficult to see the fish.
The Spring is a few yards from the gift shop and parking lot. The only time it may be difficult if there is a huge spring snow ☺️
There are portapotties that are open. Beautiful spot. No hours posted that I saw
Thàts right. I was there on July 3rd 2019 and there were couple of people with their dogs. It has to be on the lease. You can take your dog on the platform/raft as well.
It is 44 miles to Kitchitikipi from Munising. It will take an hour to drive.
If you park on the road. You can walk in its free. It's a self operated raft so you are the mercy of whom ever is on the raft that decides to operate it most groups are out 10 or 15 minutes.
It is. However; do not expect a mall entrance with paved / smooth track. It's wooden planks walk way , so little bumpy but not that hard.
No
No. We were there just the other day.
Only thing you need is the state park sticker or $ if you dont have the passport.
No is the easy answer.
Only the fish are allowed, I don't think that's very fair, but I don't make the rules. Long story short, no swimming
No. Sorry.
Sure, its a state park, just can't fly in national parks
I believe the boat is only operated during the day Monday to Friday and the park is subject to the regular state park hours.
It is a state park so if you have the park pass it's free, otherwise I believe it's between $10 and $17 (county resident verses non-county) but not 100% on that. Also if you get there after 6 at least for us anyway there was no one manning the gate house.
Yes
I was just there, they were busy, but people were practicing social distancing and it was beautiful, it should be open
It was not plowed when I was heslar for Thanksgiving
Sorry hour forty five.
Only recreation sticker required, no additional charge.
About 1-2 hours depending on how busy it is. IT IS SO WORTH YOUR TIME 🤩
You have to purchase either the year pass which is like $33 or the day pass which is currently $9. Otherwise you cannot get into the park to see the lake. Good thing with the day pass though, if you visit another state park within that same day you can use the pass to get in and not pay for another day pass.
No, entry into the water is not permitted. There's a hand operated covered raft that offers exceptional views.
I'd assume until dusk. Like most state parks the raft is probably open as long as its light out.
As long as you have a Michigan State Parks pass there is no cost.
Free just need a state pass
They're open during daytime hours. The raft is open 24/7
I think they were closing around 7 eastern time.
No swimming and no fishing, but there is public beach not far away.
Went there just last week. Trail to the falls is a bit icy in spots. Just stay on the sunny part of the trail.
Yeas, but the covering over the raft isn't there during the winter. You won't be able to take great pictures until it's back up!
Thompson State Fish Hatchery is cool. There is a casino in Manistique. Art gallery and a winery in town. Indian Lake state campground if you want to camp in the area. Canoe rentals. Schoolcraft County Historical Park. The Boardwalk on Lake Michigan in Manistique. Bishop Baraga Shrine. Lots of local places to eat and shop. If you want to drive a bit further, Seul Choix Point Lighthouse and museum, and Fayette Historic Townsite is great.
Used to be Dawn to Dusk, I have not heard that this has changed at all.
I think it has something with what ones the DNR put in there
Correct, They are out in.
Such an amazing place, you can see the path of the water flow by using Google maps and zooming in over the area.
Raft is free. You need a recreational pass to enter. If not, you can get one at the entrance. Cash ONLY
Nope no swimming but like others said lake michigan is right there amd many othe r lakes
Yes. They have a pretty large parking lot. I dont believe they have special parking for RVs. But they do have enough space for an RV to park and the entrance/exit has enough room for maneuvering
State park fee. No additional charges. Yes, an updated Navigation unit easily could navigate the route.
I wish but sadly no. Would be fun to scuba dive or snorkel. Sadly not allowed
Of course you can. Dogs are better than people!
The rainbow trout at the spring are also off limits for fishing. They all have a clipped pectoral fin, which makes them obvious to the DNR, and will result in a hefty fine for catching one.
The boat is open year round but the bathrooms and gift shop are not.
I guess you got your answer already. Yes, park is open all around year. Some roads may be seasonal though.
Non-residents can purchase a daily pass(window sticker) at a state park or recreation area for $9. Can senior citizens (age 65+) still get a discounted yearly pass? The cost of a Recreation Passport is the same for allMichigan residents ($11 for vehicles, $5 for motorcycles
Times change during the seasons they close at dusk. There's no set times but that was 2 years ago.
