The staff is friendly and the ani.als are so adorable. They have treats foe you to feed the dogs and was surprised how quiet the dogs are there. The cats are free to roam in the catery with toys to entertain them and yourself. Great place to visit!!
Nicole and Dennis Starkey
Adopted our new family member here and he's the best!
Kristin Fitzgerald
Very nice caring gentle respectful fast paced people. Clean visilaty and bright atmosphere.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
They used to have onsite training classes
How do I go about adopting one and how much does it cost to adopt a dog and what type of small dogs do you have there
Yes but call first I'm not sure if it is at the adoption center or The Vet hospital.
Yes, need to sign up to volunteer. There is a form on the website. Providence Animal Center, Media
Yes. Definitely. They can use towels too
r
Plenty of cats and kittens. All spayed or neutered. Best place to go as all initial shots are given too.
I think your cat probably has chip in him, try to call providence to locate him, i got a lovely dog from them and she has chip in her if in case she got lost, good luck hope u find him soon
You couldn't find a better place to take the dog. I've rescued both my dogs from there. They are a no kill shelter and they will take good care of it. Their staff is dedicated. May I ask what kind of dog it is?
Call them. Report to animal control page there. They have a great cruelty officer and what u are seeing is illegal!
It's a mix of paid staff and volunteers.
Adoptable cats and dogs from very young to older pets are available. Check the website. The ages are listed.
Video tape it. (But really, I don't know. My roommate's cat did this and never stopped.)
I think the prices start at $200. Some dogs have their adoption fees sponsored so that you don't have to pay..
You have to call the Police and Ambulance 911.
Could you please tell someone for the Blankets.
Unfortunately no. Limited space and no kill. Few accepted must be highly adoptable. Call all local rescues. Some specialty in elder dogs and will care for thru fosters for rest of life
They used to maintain a list of persons looking for specific breeds. You will be put on a waiting list and notified if one comes in
If you are looking for a certain breed of dog to adopt, give them a call and see if one is up for adoption. If you're looking for more detailed info , contact your local vet or search the web for more information.
They don't take reptiles. If you want to find a place that takes turtles you need to find a reptile sanctuary that rehabilitates turtles to be put back in the wild
Call ahead, but the answer is most likely no. They don't generally accept drop offs from the public.
They have an application that you fill out. Once you've picked a cat, they will review the application and there is a quick interview. Once that is done you are good to go
Definitely check their website. There are guidelines about surrendering an animal to them and usually a waiting list
Everyone is fantastic there. Your pet will find a good home
I'm not sure about that
That's what kittens & puppies do. They are very active. See if you can get an older cat.
I would just call them
While declawing is not technically illegal in the USA, most humane veterinarians and shelters will not provide this service. I recommend you do some internet searching on the practice and other ways to stop your cat clawing the furniture. Providence Animal Center will help with nail trimming and other recommendations for how to help the behavior.
You can try Providence I know that they do vet services there however not sure about $$
Definitely contact the SPCA and they will most often come and organize to have the stray picked up
They automatically emailed us a copy of the records next day
Call spca
Fee for what service?
I honestly am not sure but give them a call and if they don't they can point you in the direction of someone who can or give brandywine spca a call.
I believe you can take the body for inexpensive disposal compared to what vets charge
Are you sure mom rejected? They only feed early morning and evening. The are always near but stay away from babies to keep safe from predators. She gives herself up before she let's them harm babies.
It’s illegal but if pet not too big some do... deeply and quietly on your property
I would check website shelter is by appointment only 😉
You have to bring it in TO SPCA. FORGOTTEN CATS HAS A PROGRAM FOR OLDER CATS . CALL THEM AND ASK FOR MARGE OR ELLIE. THEY PLACE OLDER CATS . THEY PLACE CATS WITH WONDETFUL SENIOR CITIZENS AND PAY FOR CARE.
No
It's best to call them.
I agree with Dave. They may offer it as a vet clinic option for a terminally ill pet, but now they are a no kill shelter.
Don't know call them.
Yes it is but not all kitten's available will have a brother/sister. You can adopt more then 1 at a time though
A lot is a relative term. A lot to you may not be a lot to another. Can you be more specific? In addition, if finances are an issue, you might want to consider something along the lines of a goldfish...
Providence animal hp2
Definitely call.
Your best bet in this circumstance would be to call your local police department and ask them to look and see if they deem it as negligence
Yes!
You would have to ask them. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Go on there website
https://providenceac.org/behavior-services/surrender-your-pet/ Their website has alot of options including training resources to help you and your pet. If you feel like surrendering is your onpy option then they have paperwork that needs to be filled out. Its accessible in that link i posted. You can also consider contacting your local police department and asking about the resources your municipality offers
Yes
"Providence Animal Center, formerly known as the Delaware County SPCA, is not contracted for animal control services, and therefore cannot accept stray animals. Contact your municipality/township building to see what animal control service your municipality is contracted with." -https://providenceac.org/behavior-services/lost-and-found/
They dont take in animals dogs or cats call main line animal rescue
As far as a fee is concerned im unsure. What i do know is their website shows the process and forms necessary if one needs to surrender their pet. Due to construction and low space they have many restrictions on the animals they can accept at this time https://providenceac.org/behavior-services/surrender-your-pet/
Yes they should To make sure call them
Not sure I think 9 am to 5 pm No emgercey services No weekends for the vets
Usually they do not have small animals, but there are several small animal rescues in the area you can search on Google
Yes
cutting off the claws off a cat is like cutting off the tips of your fingers. they will hate you forever. DONT DO IT!
If you give the cat away and it's fine you won't need to put it down
- can you give me the address to the website so I can fill out the application please
They do spayed cats I'm not sure on the place I know it's the cheapest around maybe $50 not sure you have to call they change their name to Providence Animal Shelter in media on Sandy Bank Road
Sometimes they will get birds, rabbits, snakes, etc. You best bet would be to call and ask.
It is possible to Foster to adopt. If it really didn't work out most places require that you bring the animal back to the shelter as part of the contract.
I don't believe that you need anything. They will ask you why. I had to surrender a cat years ago as my daughter turned out to be allergic and they banned me from getting another cat. But that was Philly SPCA.
Yes you can there's a fee i believe and some paperwork you have to fill out basically surrendering your rights
They will scan for a chip, they do not hold strays. You would have to notify the police department in your area for holds.
Great place to adopt and to bring animals that you can no longer care for. They take very good care of their animals and have recently build up a new place for the cats. They don't just give their pets to anyone for adoption you must be checked out make sure you have a place for them and you can care for them. Please before you spend thousands of dollars on these cute little pooches that are only going to live for maybe eight to nine years go get yourself what I call a wonderful month or purebred at Providence these animals need homes.
Unless the animal has already been missing for a long time, I would highly recommend calling the shelter directly concerning a missing animal, opposed to waiting for the website to be updated. I'm not sure if it exists, but if the SPCA has an active Twitter or Facebook account, the relay of information would be much quicker than waiting on a website.
The phone number is provided. They're there until 5pm EST..
They get animals in all the time, checking there website is always good way ,but also ,Facebook keep checking best of luck finding your special baby, they so need homes.
If you take your pet to a mobile clinic you do not pay an additional fee.
they are always running specisls best to check with them directly, but even better you can get on there web site it it tells you everything all upcoming events.
Give them a call they will gladly help you out
Yes they will help you out just make sure you can accommodate both pets
Beautiful dog, I would contact the Providence center to see if they have a rescue team. I'm sure they can work with you or help find something immediately.
I suggest that you go in and take a look around. See which one you feel drawn to or a connection with. A kitten shouldn't be spayed or neutered before 6 months old. So if you get one younger than that, keep that in mind. I believe that spaying and neutering are part of the package, so feel free to ask them about it.
You do have to call first. If there is room they may have you bring the dog in for a meet.
December 11 from 4 to 6 PM according to the calendar on the website.
No, I don't believe so. Please go on their website for further information. They are open 7 days a week, but has different hours.
Yes. They have a great staff. You're pet needs to have a rabies vaccination which they can also do there, as well as the microchip.
You should call the office and explain the issue.
I think they offer lost cost services but call to make sure.
yes
She should take the cat to the spca, they will handle it.
Yes, best to call ahead to see exactly what she needs.
You will need to call first. There are guidelines posted on the website.
What if you're not the owner of the dog? And what do they do to animals that are being turned over just turn them away and let people drop him off on the street?
Always call ahead before you go good luck
Yes
Yes, they are on their website. Just Google "Providence Animal Center" and you'll find their website. Click "adopt" once you're there and you'll see all the adoptable animals.
Did you ever think of calling the SPCA instead of posting your question on social media
TAKE YOUR DOG NOW OR HE MIGHT DIE
Im sorry for your loss. They cannot accept food items that have been opened. They always need blankets and linens. I am unsure about the bed and stuffed toys.
Just bring him in. If you have any vet records bring them with you. It helps to know if he's had his vaccinations
Not sure if there are any specials going this month. Check with office.
The Wildlife Animal Center moved to King of Prussia recently. They were previously in Roxborough.
Yes
Must call ahead and explain why you are dropping off the animal.
There are a lot of variables that go into that. Your best bet would be just going in or calling and asking if you already have an idea on the kind of pet/breed you want
If I'm not mistaken they take dogs and cats depending on how much space they have to accommodate them. So I'd suggest calling in first to make sure there's space available
I don't work there, so I don't know.
Post a photo with info in the Facebook page group for lost pet s of Delaware County
The best place to learn more about adopting is the Providence Animal Center website. There are a lot of dogs and cats of all ages looking for homes and frequent discounts on fees. The cost to really consider is the recurring cost of caring for a pet.
No. They generally have cats and dogs. Only occasionally the have small pets
Unless the animal is in for a procedure no. There are situations where they will hospital board.
Please call them directly.
Yes but please call before any dropoffs
Kea Dawson, I can provide a place where grooming is accepted, for you if you would like the information
Please call them directly
Yes, contact them
Pet smart they have classes
They offer a list of local clinics that offer rabies shots. The clinic charge is $15-20.
If you look on their website, you will see dates for low cost vaccination clinics at various locations throughout the county.
They do not do boarding. I believe Media Veterinary Hospital does cat boarding.
Call police. They are who is notified in this area for a stray. Also post nextdoor neighborhood website. Facebook has a page List and Found pets of Delco. Hope you find him!
A found dog is reported to police. They connect w rescue org. PAC is a no kill group.
Yes
I'm sorry... I am not an employee of Providence Animal Shelter. I believe you text a question to me, regarding adoption costs, etc. I was able to answer your questions, because I was just there, looking at the dogs. Like you... I hope the animal you considered adopting finds a great forever home!!
What do you have; dog or cat? Also, what is the animal's gender.. male/female? I will have an answer for you, by the time you respond to my text. *FYI... Providence Animal Shelter (same location as the Delco SPCA), was offering special, low-cost adoption fees; I am almost certain the cost is > $100. and that would include spay/neutering; shots, etc. Again, I will make sure, by the time you text back.
