I loved the castle experience! Having never traveled to Europe the fairytale lover inside of me was jumping with glee. We purchased the self guided/standing tasting for $50. We drank our wines quickly and then set off to explore the castle and grounds. If I was going to rate the wine I’d give it 3 stars, The Castle 5 stars and the service 3 stars. Our wine server was polite and friendly he just lacked enthusiasm. It was as if he knew the wines weren’t that great and that the best thing about The Castle of Love was the building itself and not the wine. The most expensive wines are delicious ($100 a bottle) but the cheaper wines, (anything less than $100) are meh. People who payed to sit and taste wine waited a long time to sit in the courtyard, bake in the sun, and drink marginal wines. I highly recommend the $50 route. They take you down to the cool cellar with fans blowing to sip your wine. You have to stand the entire time but you don’t get heat stroke. The $7 chocolate addition was totally worth it in my opinion. 3 delicious fancy chocolates in a lovely gift box. Even if you don’t eat the chocolates on site it makes a lovely souvenir.

Great experience something very different since I love the beach Napa is totally different and hot very hot weather. Castello di Amorosa is beautiful! The wines were great! My favor part was sitting in the patio. Once they bring your wine out they also bring some chocolates with different shapes and delicious 😋 I recommend this place 100% If you go plan on just going to the Castello and expend the night there so are not rushing. The next day you can go to other places. Also keep in mind that the Castello closes at 5pm during week days and at 530pm Saturday and Sunday. The parking lot is big and I recommend reservations. It has lots of stairs for some awesome pictures! Enjoy and have fun!

This place was absolutely stunning. The architecture and history behind the castle is incredible. The location is stunningly beautiful and the experience at this winery was superb. I highly recommend taking the Diamond Estate Tour & Reserve Wine Tasting and add the chocolate tasting. Also, I highly recommend requesting to have the tour with Amy as she is an impressively amazing tour guide that makes the experience even better. The wine tasting is excellent and worth experiencing. We definitely plan to return again to enjoy this winery.

Standing Wine tasting was a bit awkward and missing a relaxed feel over all experience (6/10). Wines itself are( 8/10) some really good white wines lack the selection as some of the wines were out of stock. No food options so bring a snack or have lunch before visiting. It's a beautiful place, kept clean and organized. Not a lot to explore unfortunately

You do not need a tour but you do need a ticket to enter. You can buy your ticket when you get there. You have to buy a ticket either $30 general adm or $45 or $50 for guided tour or specialty tours. My friends and I (6 total) paid the $30 each and we took so many pictures and did 2 different wine tastings and tour the underground outside and the gift shop. The tour is ok but I heard alot of ppl complain about it. Tour ticket basically let's you taste specialty wines in same area as the general adm .
Yes you can, You can walk around it is beautiful, with more time you can go back and see how beautiful it is inside, try their delicious wines sold only in this place. They have an interesting variety of wines and products.
Yes you can take down the elevator to the second floor
Presently under COVID it's a limited experience of the Castle - you need reservations to get on the castle level too - wait till completely open is best
I have read that the castle is intact and only a storage area burned down other than that I'm not aware of any more damages.
Love
The tour is worth it even if you don't drink wine. You get to go down below and see more.
I recommend the guided tour plus wine tasting, which is currently $45, but prices range from $30 - $95. Here is the link to the descriptions. https://castellodiamorosa.com/experiences/
Kids get grape juice and can do some colouring while parents do the tasting.
No fire damage
Unfortunately there is not tour without the wine tasting but you don't have to taste the wine. There are grape juice that is also available. It will run you about $40
It is an Italian castle that has a story of a loving couple who could not be together
Not here (as per Napa County ordinance) but their sister winery, V. Sattui has wine to sell for drinking on premise as well as a deli for items and a picnic area
Yes Thank you ... I hope to find an Uber available to drive until you find it ... that's my concern ... 🙏👍
For the wedding, but not the wedding
I don't think so either, but I did see that there is no strollers allowed
No, but for a possible tipsy experience, go on an empty stomach, pack some food for afterward which you can eat in your car, while you enjoy the scenery.
It's off season right now. You will see small spots of fire damage but for the most part everything's open. This is an amazing weekend getaway location. 7 stars
Yes they are open, make an appointment for sure. The "tour" isn't as the usual tour that they have. Its outdoor seating only. Its a good experience still but no 2hr plus tour.
Due to current CDC guidelines, the current price gives you a tasting and all day self-guided tour.
You must make reservatioms to even be allowed on the grounds.
Sandra, for this type of question - that concerns their policies - it's best to ask the winery directly. I don't think they are supposed to monitor this Q&A forum, and any answer from the user community here will not be a guarantee of any kind that you can rely upon.
It is family friendly but if you have strollers you need to leave them outside.
Should be. Hours might affect though. I would call and ask.
I am pretty confident they are, but it is always good to call and ask first. They had a New Year's Eve member's only party in their castle the night before. So expect a good number of hung over staff and VIP guests.
Yes, there are $ 32 including tour and two wine tasting, during the week there are not many visitors, it is worth it very nice
I did not see anything like that when I was there, but I'd call their gift shop as they may have gotten in some new gift items.
Yes but includes a tour of the castle and wine tasting
I believe you may be able to buy wines without paying the $30 fee to go into the tasting room.
The website answers all of these questions.
Check the website for the latest on the menu and pricelist. In California the weather is pretty much the same as year round..
Nope, you have pay the entry fee 30$ to visit the store which gives you the tour of winery as well.
No strollers inside the castle, you have to leave them outside. Pets I don't think so.
There are numerous all around the castle. It's better to look up the wineries by looking up Napathingstodo.....
There is a general admission fees for entering the castle. Even if you opt out of wine tasting, that needs to be paid.
I doubt. When I went most came by their own transport or vehicle
They are smart. Entry fee is $30 and wine tasting is complementary.
I don't think so unless you rent the whole place
Yes, but you have to take guided tour to see all. Like the torture chamber and Barrel room.
If you have a Drone and a flashlight on it Then Yess!
It depends on what kind of tour you want ... I paid the $ 40 per person and the best time would be August.
280 miles (450.6 km) to Redwoods National Park.
Open every day except for December 25th. :)
Everyone needs to buy ticket for admission regardless tasting or no tasting. Children under 5 is free. Children over 5 years old is $20. As long as accompany with adult, children is allowed to go in.
The last answer is misinformed, typically someone will come ask you not to fly the drone if it is being done around the castle.
Yes it is open on Feb 14th from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
I believe they are open everyday from 10 am - 6 pm for their tours, but like Rob said, do your tour and wine tasting in the basement is better, very nice, I have wome pics or the castle so you can have an idea.
Dario Sattui, Castello Di Amorosa means Castle of Love in Italian. Building the place took a lot of love and dedication by the owner
There are children there- to what way it is possible to use the site for your celebration I'm not sure
You and a guest are free and two more guests @ 50% off. You get 10% off on wine
Yes
The Castle is very dog friendly, Dogs both service and non service are welcome inside the castle. The people saying no are unfortunately mis-informed
You can't stay there but they have lots of special events and there are some great BnBs nearby.
Fees are on website. This site is not associated with the actual business...just peer responses here
No rooms in castle to rent but there are several hotels within 5miles
Make your RSVP. You should be fine if you do
They offer a guided tour that has a 60min walking tour of the grounds.
You only can buy wine at the castle, not available at other stores.
Yes
I saw a couple doing wedding pictures in the vineyards but I don't know about a fee. I recommend emailing their office.
That is correct ...but there is also the dungeons with The Wine Cellar and a bar...
No. And there is no Military discount.
Yes we are open. Fires are no longer a threat anywhere in the Napa valley. Everything is fine for th most part.
No fire damage open for business. You won't be able to see much fire damage in most the Napa valley
Yes still open
Call in to get details
About 1.5 hours
For a guided tour it is recommended to reserve in advance. However general admission does not require a reservation
Wine tasting is included on tour, there is not separate pricing for only tour
For a guided tour it is always a good idea to make a reservation. For general admission, no reservation is necessary
All throughout the caves, torture chamber, armory grand barrel room and more
The tours might get sold out on busy weekends but you can always get tickets for just wine tasting. You can also walk around the castle on your own, but there is no access to the lower levels unless you take the tour.
Yes
For $25, you can try 5 different wines, but not from the premium wine list. For premiums, I think the price is about $50.
Mandatory no, highly recommended yes. Pretty much everyone is dressed up except staff
