if you are visiting DC and enjoy the outdoors, the Arboretum absolutely the place to be. so much to see, and there are several nature paths to walk down. they have a rose garden, herb garden, medicinal garden, as well as random indigenous plants on shaded paths.

The arboretum it’s a mostly unknown place for tourists but it’s a good place to visit especially if there is good weather, plenty of places to walk, run or just camping. Good recommendation if you are looking for a place that it’s not too crowded.

One of the great places to explore in DC. It's worth multiple visits with friends and family.
Yes, however keep the following in mind:-
1. All the public toilets and visitor center are closed.
2. There is a lot of overgrowth around there but you should get a place for picnic
Good question...they have all sorts of plant life imported from all over the world. I remember some cool looking grass from Italy...it's pretty big so there is a chance but my suggestion would be to go and immerse yourself in all of the many exotic plants! If they don't have Chinese/Japanese trees, I'd ask and I bet they can refer you somewhere! The staff are knowledgeable and very attentive!
my friend I'm sorry I'm just getting back to you but I did do the research and as of right now the cowboy puns are not open but there is also a beautiful one that I've been to is called Brookville gardens in Wheaton Maryland you might want to check them out okay 🙏♥️
Parking is fine at all times. It never seems to be too busy. Truly an underappreciated park. Be aware that when driving, check for your arrival time since some entrances are only open during some hours.
There are multiple parking areas. There are at least three parking lots that may accommodate a bus. Also, they may allow you to park along one of their many roads. Two of the parking lots are further from the trails but perfect for a bus.
If you are doing photos out there, not just snapping pics, you do need a permit. There was a sign in front of one of the cherry blossom trees with the needed info but I did not take a photo. If I recall correctly, they issue permits on Tuesday and Thursday, the business office has the applications.
Why did my weeping cherry not bloom or leaf out this year?. It was having problems with anthracnose, so we had it fertilized and treated by a professional arborist last year.. My redbud didn’t blossom either but has leaves.i

Anthracnose is not a disease of cherry. Find a new arborist who knows PHC. It sounds serious, but may be weather related.
You can kayak (or canoe) on the river adjacent to the Arboretum but there are no boat rentals. There is a partial boat dock past the lower (river) entrance. Best to rent or push off from Bladensburg waterfront park.
Is the a tram to take people around the arboretum? Is it running today?

Unfortunately, they discontinued the tram. Budget cuts, I think

You would probably have to talk to officials from the arboretum, call or email. Look up their web site.
I had lost my light onion color cloth handbag on 09/09/17 last Saturday at the Arboretum, DC. How do I get in contact with you to know if some one has seen and handed over the bag at the visitor center?
