I drop off a stray cat they took the cat without hesitant and was very professional
Nidah Controv
A friend called about a kitten stuck in a 60-foot tree, to see if ACCT had access to resources that would help, or if they could offer any advice on how to get it down. The person on the phone hung up on them after saying "The cat will be fine, bye."

I realize they are overwhelmed. I guess I was expecting more personal and" heart backed" assistance. I'm from a small town in Florida. It serves it's purpose. Animal control. For that it's decent. But they neuter and then replace them right back into the block it was "rescued from. Overpopulation control, kinda. Abandoned pets people"discarded", no help. TONS of super hungry "lost" pets on EVERY SINGLE CORNER. BUMMER 😕.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Not a great place, they made sick pets wait outside in the 95 degree heat for hours.
Yes
Every time I call they Never answer the phone, why is that ?
We have a stray cat that we feed. She had 2 litters last year. The first litter she had 6. One died we found homes for the others. This last time she had 4 and 2 died. My son decided to hide them and the mother in his room to get them out of the cold. He is severely allergic and won't let them go unless we find a home for them. There is one from the first litter and 2 from the second and the Mommy cat looks to be pregnant again. They do get along with our chihuahua and children and they use the litter. If anyone is interested please respond
Acct or spca they'll come n get it
They have all kinds of dogs to adopt
I have been trying to make a appt to surrender my dog .don.t have any vet papers .i am moving next monday .not having any luck .i need help to do this .please
They still have the records for him but they would be out of date if you get his microchip number they should be able to give you a copy of everything
Yes they have all kinds of dogs. Call them and go visit.
Having a dog license is Philadelphia law so u need that along with updated vaccination records.
Yes , they do ...I was there yesterday, they had 4...
No children under age 5, the clinic provides all shots and papers as well as fixing when you adopt that is.🐕👌👉💓
They staff there were great, very caring and enjoyed working with the animals.
I have 3 feral kittens and a mother cat. The kittens are about 4 months old. Can they be spayed and clipped on the ear
Yes you can....
I agree and it's always good to just go to these places. Take flyers just incase someone comes in when you leave and tries to drop off your fur baby. Best of luck
Try contacting your local fire department. Belive it or not its one of their services and they will locate a facility. If not guide you to the correct location or ppl that can.
Also, they have several Facebook pages for fosters/rescues to keep the info and adorable pets moving
ACCT is an intake shelter but the Citizen for No-Kill Philadelphia has information they can offer for services
You can bring her in and it won't cost anything.
Check their website, all contact info is there. Automatic response
You need to file a lost pet report either online or there. Pictures are very helpful. Plus see if someone filed a found pet report. Put flyers up in your neighborhood helps too. Good luck
You can call the shelters in philly. Was she chipped? Also you can obtain a trap free of charge from ACCT and try to catch her that way. Mom vet told me once to put her litter pan outside close to your house, possibly in the alley and that draws them back home too because they know their own scent.Good luck and God bless
Yes.
U must go there and look you can't just post a random question on Google. The shelter is full.
You can call them and they will pick him up
You have to physically go there BUT before going there go on their website to see their adoption requirements.
Yes if the dog is already fixed if not it will b the next day
Yes, large dogs are free! Unfortunately they are always overcrowded.
U have to go there and see if the cat is there.
You can call acct they will come investigate
If your refering to a dog or a cat its first come first serve. You have to call in and ask during normal business hours or go in and find out.
I would suggest contacting rescue's 1st. If no rescue will take, I believe there is a PSPCA trailer near ACCT that I am told has a better live exit rate.
Who cut a cats leg off sick ppl
I haven't heard that, but i do know that they are full, if you are looking to adopt, and volunteers are always welcome!
They accept cats but call them and check to see if they are room for your cat. If they do, make an appointment, make sure you're a Philadelphia residence, bring your cat in a carrier and ID. ACCT is good place.
You can attempt to call but if you don't get an answer, bring your fur baby with all shot and medical information. Try to get there as early in the AM as possible. Don't go on a Monday or Saturday. It's a mad house. Sorry you have to surrender your 🐾 baby. If possible. give a donation. They can use the $$.
You come to the shelter between 10 am and 6 pm and do everything there
Adoptable animals at ACCT don't last long at all before they're adopted. Often the animals are adopted within a day or 2 of coming in. A golden doodle would NOT LAST long here at all!! That's because most of what comes in are Pit Bulls.
From my understanding yes you can walk in for adoptions.. they do have kittens as well from the last time I been there and that was about 2 to 3 wks ago
You have to call a private wildlife. ACCT and Spca will not help. Acct can only help if they are walking on the floor and can not get into any walls or floors and so forth.
Yes they do its on their website acctphilly.org
Idk about the spca bit it's a no for acct they do not offer public clinic services such as vet care, grooming etc
Don't go here they are to high to adopt. Also they killed my dog I had to return because she couldn't go with us and lied and told us she was put down because she was to shy this place is killing hog for animals they don't care
Yes they would be considered a "Stray". All you have to do is fill out some paper work information. ACCTPHILLY is open everyday from 10am-6pm
I think they will at no charge
Often you hear of a "bonded pair" which means 2 animals are devoted to each other and cannot thrive without each other.
Yes they will take her just make sure that the mom isn't going to come back , if she does you can take them both in.
Not that I'm aware of but you can always take it to your vet or local pet crematory and when you are ready, you can go to ACCT and adopt a pet
We adopted 9/12. She is part of our family now. Since she had just came to acct, I had to come back in a couple days until she was checked out by the vet, given vaccines and all🙂
You can try calling ACCT, about it, they will tell you more than me. With how you ascribed the cat, sounds thirsty. If you put some water out,in an old bowl, it should drink and than leave,
Honestly, I have no medical background. But, this happened to mine as well. It maybe bruised muscle/bone area. I waited a day to see if it resolved itself. Which it did. Your kitten could have bruised the bone (swelling could cause lack of movement). It possibly could be broken as well. Kittens think they are invincible, like kids. Monitor her, if it is still hurting as much the next day, take her down to ACCT , they have ER services 24 hours a day or even to another vet. I would what a good day, sometimes, they just bounce back. I wish her and you well!
Yes
I didn't find it rude. She was very helpful despite being busy. Don't let one bad experience term m turn you off to a good organization
Only on puppy day. Keep checking with them or the spca
Yes just tell them what you are looking for
apca
Not really. Many have behavior or health issues
You should call or visit the website.
Omg! Just had the same issue with my Mastiff (11yr.) Vet wanted 3500 to 7000. I gave ACCT a nice donation and sent him home.
Yes, I believe you can. Call and ask but they always want and need people to walk and play with the dogs, along with feed them.
Reach out to ACCT and schedule a meet and greet!
No this is just intake for strays. You can get some treatment there but it's not a general vet, it's a shelter
I adopted a cat 3 weeks ago feom ACCT & i can 100% say its by appt only during this crazy covid mess. So No u can not walk in. I hope this helps
What is your question
PAWS, by Buselton Ave and Grant Ave. Great work and prices.p
Hi Susan. To be honest, I have the same question. I'm taking my friend on monday to ACCT and I an on asking that question. You cant get anyone on the phone.
Yes thanks
$30 for cats 6 mos and older
Go to there website n click where it says appointments but they only post appointments every Monday.
Just go there
Not usually. ACCT doesn't turn away any animal though, so, if a bunny has been surrendered or brought in, they may have it. Not a common occurrence
No, it's mainly cats and dogs. I would reach out to bunny rescues specifically.
Not sure. Every vet or rescue is different. Call them and ask then call another place and compare. One of them will be more reasonable then the other.
They are not your pets. Not sure if ACCT will come out. But ASPCA will. Make sure you fumigate first. Don't feed them. Spray the area outside on your property. As well as inside your whole house. Hope this helps.
They have dogs and cats. You sign documentation. Agreeing that you will take home with you. And be a good pet parent/owner. I hope this answers your question.
They are open till 6pm but you have to call first
They are taking strays that are medically needing to be seen But will return the stray to the area. No pet surrenders from what I understand
Good morning yes that right fine something he love and put it down at the foot of the tree
They close now
You can call any acct office, they have standard list of shots that are given
You can take them to the shelter where they are open until 8 p.m.
I don't speak Spanish sorry
The only things ACCT are into is catch, spay/nueter and release, if you care about your Fur Baby, I can only give you this advice, find them a home, because once you give them your address they will release it in your neighborhood, unless it's a kitten and that's a big if.... I know because I've been doing it for years....
Take him to ACCT and tell them a family member has passed away and you can keep it cuz you're allergic to it because if you tell them he was outside still think he's a feral cat . Because if you don't say that then bring them back to the neighborhood where you found it
Dog I'm assuming u mean, but yes you can.
Hey so acct has at 7day time frame were you can come in for free healthcare anything past that they would ask you to go to a primary vet Sorry
There is great info about the lifesaving program on the website, or you can go in to talk with staff, volunteer, or get training and clearance with lifesaving to foster kittens/cats. Fostering saves lives!
Call them. I believe they will pick him up. Or you can call justice rescue They're also great
Oh 😔😞
Yes you can take to many places Acct - Spca - Morris Animal Refuge and Paws many choices.
They will make sure a full exam is done. Look for an owner. Get a photo out on the internet to help locate anyone who knows the animal. Then the animal will be housed there at ACCT.😀🐾🐕🐾 William T. I hope your dog was returned to your family. It's horrible knowing that a cruel person Stole your family member and that's what our pets are to US!! I hope they helped you solve this problem.
Are you looking for a kitten or an adult cat ?
U have to ask them
I would just give them a call b4 u go over .. ty 4 helping these furbabies!!
You should have your dog license or proof of immediately I would think.
I'm sure they set the limit, they wouldn't let you get overwhelmed
Acct doesn't come out for stray kitten unless they are trap sick or hurt and. If you bring in this kitten and it is old enough to live on the street. They will fixed give it shots but release it. Back on the street Where it came from. And if you come with it. And it young enough they mite put it in to the foster program the best. Time for that is 9 am too 4 pm .
Like a dog sitter type thing, no if you leave them you lose them.
It's either 6 months or 6 weeks
Didn't know that was going on but I'm not surprised....I felt it in my soul when I walked in just not a nice place for them...the place needs to be cleaned out, repainted some staff members need to go home ... people need to know the meaning of a job...do the job you love not a job just for money.
do u guys have any kittens
Large dogs are 65 plus license 16 for small dogs if they have any are 100 plus license
On a poster in their lobby, I noticed that ACCT advertises for volunteers to bottle feed kittens. So they might occasionally have some kittens.
That would probably be better directed to the PSPCA. You can call or fill out the form online. Information is at this link. I think they want you to provide your info so they can follow up if they need more details (for internal use only). https://www.pspca.org/cruelty
Yes they accept surrenders between 12 and 5 PM by appointment
Yes they are open on Saturday. I don't think you need an app't
There is no cost involved. They will just ask basic questions about your pet, you will sign some papers and that's it.
Thank you for responding.
Yes they do.
They have animal control officers who could pick them up. Just call their number.
I think 100 but they have event that will lower it
Were the cats left inside the home, or did they just end up there? If they were left then you should reach out to the PSPCA, if the cats found a way inside then ACCT animal control officers may be able to help.
You have to call the adoption department or go online petfinder is the quickest way. Great website
You can take both to ACCT tell them they are strays and they will try to tend to the injuries and neuter both if needed.
Please dont take this wrong Next time get a tag and or take a picture with a registration card that allow you to be the registered owner of your animal It would be placed on legal animal record Take a picture of te animal brith spots so you can identify your animal when you get the law involved May God bless you forever
Take it to the ACCT on Hunting Park Ave.
They aren't fixing cats right now. They have no vet. You can go there though for a voucher for Forgotten Cats.
If the Dog is behind age why not find a home instead Think of yourself would you want someone to kill you just because your old so how bout your Mom or your Dad pay for it You are a Dog owner a care provider that Dog depends on you Love the animal until its last days Why not Life in itself is already hard enough on humans And especially on animals who have to depend on our love an care and kindness please dont forget shelter Damn You need a hug Maybe someone to love you Just a little better than your use to
You would have to call them during business hours, there are going to be some questions they will ask you
I agree with Ron Christopher
Yes you can adopt a kitten, the price goes down if the kitten is under six months old and I think the price is $25.00.
You just really need to go as soon as possible and look through all the animals. They take great care of them but unfortunately there is a huge need for their services and they have to move the animals elsewhere
PSPCA
You need an appt. Best to piss walk in to make the appt. Or email. Also need photo id
Just go down 111 hunting park and they have plenty of cats to choose from and pick the one you want but if you have another animal in the house and other people in the house they would have to come also to make sure it's a good fit. Fill out some paperwork and get interviewed for about 10 minutes then your done
Roxanne Brooks my foster cassylee is up for adoption thru Acct But she's still atmy house if you want to do a meet up..I'm in ne philly..but I still have to apply in person at acct.
Not sure give them a call
If you have feral animals there is no charge for services. I don't know if they do it for your own pets or what the charge is.
Depends on the situation if its your cat most likely they'll send you to a low cost veterinarian but if its a street cat they have TNR(trap neauter release) program where they trap outdoor cats then vaccinate spay or neuter then release back to their area, hope this helps i currently work at acct
Not sure, but not high at all.
Sometimes
Yes call asapca. They should be able to help. Acct doesn't deal with those situations
Take the dog their, they are going euthanize it that what they Do
I recommend you go as soon as possible, I have checked my pitbull there, and the cost has been less than $ 100. Possibly your Chihuahua has an infection or an insect bit him.
Give them a call sure they will help you out
Yes, or take it their. But euthanize it
Acct does not provide vaccinations nor do they fux kittens that belong to the public.
I saw a notice about that there in their lobby, but I can't recall the date, but I believe you have to ne the first ,not sure of the number, and it's free. You can call them, but they dont answer their calls 99% of the time.I have tried their web site, but that doesn't work either,no wonder they kill almost 50% of their cats and dogs.
Take him or her to acct they will be able to help you or give them a call
No they do not. Only if you surrender your cat. However, the SPCA does and the rates are low. The spca is near acct. Take your kitty there. Hope this helps.
Yes
In that situation call animal control.
They have an answering service that will notify the control person on duty.
Yes
Are they bothering anyone?
You have to make an appointment to surrender your cat. Also, ACCT is full so your pet cat will most likely be put to sleep especially he/she has medical issues. I'd go to the SPCA and pay their surrender fee so your pet has a chance to live. Or contact Morris Animal Shelter.
Try calling the PA Game Commission.
18 or older
Yes there in the back on the left side ok
Their small dogs and puppies usually go to affiliates at petsmart and are available for adoption there.
Check their website dor all events.
They have several locations to adopt a dog or cat from. They do have small dogs. You really need to call them and check their website daily.
It's not a choice they won't release animals without being spayed or neutered
Call the game warden
What do you mean by rescue? Are the cats in danger? Is something wrong?
Acct can help
Probably not. That probably falls under the category of a charitable act, because you're not doing it contractually or at anyone's behest. I think ACCT has volunteering and foster pet oppty's - but they're voluntary. They have a voicemail message that states that it's legal for feral cats to live in the City. So feeding neighborhood feral cats is like feeding neighborhood squirrels or pigeons. A better solution might be volunteering with ACCT'S catch and release program that catches, spays/neuter then releases neighborhood cats to prevent overpopulation. Thanks for your service and kindness!
Go on their website or call.
Take her there. They'll take care.
10.00 and you have to make an appointment. You will also need shot records.
I don't even know what that is.unless your low cost vet care if that what you need ask for info pamlet at the front desk.hope this was helpful.
Call the humain society.aramingo ave.
Take it to them with a small donation.
You can take them to acct and they going to take good care of them.
Yez
They won't treat the kitten if your going to keep it.....Cheap vet at Adams Ave and Folkrod Street called Emancipet.
Who is ACCT. AND WHERE are rhe located, i live in Philadelphia area. Thanks
Take them to acct and tell them what you just told me.you will finally get a good sleep.and if you need to trap them.consider borrowing one of there traps.
Try to get her acct.they will take care of it from there.
Thats 12 pm 130 Its 12 130
Oh my if she wasn't nurderd aromingo ave is humain society you could of called them.and you could of look up resources on the computer.would of told you we're to go for help.sorry for your lost.you should of done your homework.
You'll have to call an exterminator.
Yes they do but I would call to find out specifics first.
Animal care and control team
First of all, they are NOT a no kill. They are going to be transitioning to a no kill, but this will take time. Second of all they WILL NOT adopt out a dangerous dog regardless of no kill status. No kill does not mean that they will not euthanize dangerous or suffering animals. It simply means that they will not euthanize for lack of space or lack of funding to treat treatable conditions. Third of all, saying all pit bulls are dangerous is like saying all black people are criminals. You simply cannot classify one race or one breed as being the same. Pit bulls get a bad rap, but there are many, many breeds of dogs that are mis-identified as being pit bulls or Pit Bull mixes. I have a pit bull mix that I adopted from ACCT Philly and I trust her with all of my children, even my 6 month old baby. Now back to the original question, no you do not have to live in Philadelphia. You do need to bring any resident dogs and any children with you, ID, proof of address, and lease.
Yes they do and i do not volunteer there great staff there also
Sometimes those dogs are sick, but the tags clearly state what's wrong and they give u the necessary meds, puppies, oh no, u won't see any little puppies if that's what ur looking for, also, ACCT is a kill shelter?Remember, Those animals are mostly rescues?? Call them and they can tell u everything u need to know
50-100 bucks I think, why don't you just call them and ask them???
12 year old dog with heart problems, kidney stones, and in larger liver.
Yes!!!!!
U call vermon control not ACCT
Some are put up for adoption. But your best bet is to call.
I would try to help if this was a question that made any sense.
Get litter that has no dust. And get him into a vet it may be a upper respiratory issue.
Jeanette where are you located? City wise?
ACCT always has dogs that are "time stamped", meaning they will be killed that day or a few days later. Rescue's that save these dogs can't without approved foster homes. Please contact ACCT to learn how to become an approved foster. Thank you for your willingness to foster.
I called them 3 times already
They are a high kill shelter for cats and dogs.
your best bet is to take the dog over to ACCT on Hunting Park ave, between Front & American sts.
I would call to find out if their pantry is open today. Also, u have to provide financial proof that u need the help. Idk exactly what u need to bring/provide but if u call they will tell u. Also, your pets MUST be spayed/neutered.
The cat was just picked up by a recuse group. Awesome people!
According to the website: Kittens (under 6 months): $75 Adult cats (over 6 months): $25 Older adult cats (over 5 years): free with FAQ handout Cats with Kitty Colds: free with FAQ handout & medication
I agree It's best if you trap and bring in yourself
If its chipped to your local humane society. Idk if the acct deals with animals that have died. But I know the aspca will help you.
Yes. I recommend PAWS which has low cost programs. Give them a call for more information.
That's the best thing to do
For adoptions they do Main Shelter (Hunting Park Ave) Kittens (under 6 months): $75 Adult cats (over 6 months): $25 Older adult cats (over 5 years): free with FAQ handout Cats with Kitty Colds: free with FAQ handout & medication Puppies (under 6 months): $100 Adult dogs (over 6 months): $25 Pen Pal dogs: $15 Benefactor dogs: $150
You have to check with them, one thing i can say , take care of the animals there very well
Kittens are $75 (I know bc I foster kittens through ACCT)
Perhaps only lost, feral or abandoned ones. Call first to be sure. PAWS has reasonable fees for pet house cats
Call them they always need volunteers
I wouldnt say acct is an excellent rescue but its an option. They may decide to put him down. Better to look for rescues or sanctuaries.
They have a hot line for it
No i have 3 cats and a turtle
Yes but they will euthanize him bc everyone has the same story as u, my landlord won't let me keep him. When u take on a pet it is a life-long responsibility. Find a place that allows u to have pets unless u can live with the fact that your dog will be put to sleep.
I agree with Bonnie $10 spca on Erie ave you should be hood. Definitely call first
Call to find out how much shots are at ACCT. Don't know off hand but I know the services are not that expensive...
When I went to get my cat it cost me $25 and $5 for the container to take her home. So $30 total. My son went to another location and it cost him $50.
Let's start with who stole your dogs and how did they wind up at ACCT?
They are an intake shelter. PSPCA offers low cost clinic, but call them for more information.
I have a dog that I can no longer have because I’m moving into a apartment will they take him pit bull he’s 1yrs old
