A very large zoo, as we ended up walking around for over two hours. It boasted a wide variety of animals, displays and a food court area that actually had good food. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but the lots are close to the park entrance. It was beneficial to start in the back of the lot as I was able to snag one of the only spots left, for the lot closest to the entrance. We would definitely go back if in the area.

We had a great time, it's not the biggest zoo but it is nice, we enjoy going every week and having a picnic there. We generally only spend about an hour there. It's pretty quick to walk through. I wouldn't make a trip specifically for I the zoo but whenever we have a bit of extra time it's a nice little walk the kids enjoy.

What a fantastic zoo. We were very happy to see the large enclosures the animals had. The zoo is very large and very easy to make your way through the entire zoo. There are many benches along the way if you get tired to take a rest. They time event the tickets so the crowds were not overwhelming. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of animals. This was the nicest zoo I have ever visited. If you get tired of looking at animals they have a very fun zipline you can do for an added cost inside the zoo. There are carriages to rent for children and wheelchairs for those who need one. Parking was easy and ample. Very affordable prices would definitely recommend this for children and adults.

It's been a while since I've been back home, and they've done a great job enhancing the zoo. I wish I had the time on this trip to visit the lanterns at night. I love the new rainforest exhibit they added with the sloth!

The Zoo is the perfect place for children and adults of all ages. See animals from all over the globe – including a Komodo dragon, as well as zebras, red pandas, African elephants, Masai giraffes, snow leopards, bears, anteaters, flamingoes, sloths, and more! Kids have the opportunity to feed giraffes, as well as an array of farmyard animals in our contact yard. For our younger visitors we have our Big Backyard exhibit featuring a splash and play pad, nature play and nearby train ride. We hope to see you soon!
Yes! They are a carry in, carry out recreation site so remember to take your trash with you when you leave :) The biggest problem you will have is deciding where to have it :)
Hi Dante - The Zoo does not offer one-on-one encounters with our African elephants; however, we do offer giraffe feedings, camel rides, and armadillo encounters throughout our summer season. Please check our website at rwpzoo.org for times and details. Thanks!
Timed-entry ticket requirements continue to remain in effect for non-members. If you are a current RWPZoo member you no longer need to purchase your ticket online in advance.
DO you have senior discounts
Yes you can i saw at least 15 wagons there on Sunday
The Zoo will be open it's regular business hours from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
There is a giraffe feeding station as well as a farm animal petting area
This is an exhibit not a food court. There were stands offering ice cream and popcorn.
The Zoo will allow service animals for all disabilities on grounds as outlined by the ADA standards. For the safety and well-being of our guests as well as our animals, pets, emotional support and therapy animals are not allowed inside the Zoo.
Hopefully, do they say nonrefundable? Hopefully they make an exception because of covid, good luck!
Paved walkways
No they do not, at least when I went 2 weeks ago they did not, and I had pack pack and child stroller with baby bag
A quick visit will take 2 hours.
17.99 for 13 and older, 12.99 for kids 2 to 12, kids under 2 are free, I have a season pass for 129.99
It's definitely quite a walk, for someone with any leg or knee problems especially. There's one incline from the giraffes to the seal and the farm animal area, nothing too crazy but again might be for yourself or your husband in addition to the overall length of the entire zoo if you wanted to visit all the animals. They offer carriages or carts for children but I do not know if the have anything similar for adults to make it easier. However if you have a walker or wheelchair you could obviously bring those along incase you were to get overwhelmed and tired or sore during your visit. Hope you enjoy your visit if and when you and your husband decide to visit!!!
Yes
Yes, but only for Providence residents. A form of ID will be required. (Drivers license/utility bill)
Hi Chloe - The Zoo works with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums and other AZA accredited institutions to develop specific species survival plans depending on the animals conservation status. This could be rescuing animals from the wild for specific breed and release programs or from other Zoo's and Aquariums to help boost populations. Thank you!
Hi Brian - Cameras on tri-pods are permitted within Zoo grounds. Thank you.
Im not sure i bought a family pass. Because i have 7 of us in my family it came out cheaper for yearly family pass than it did for the actual fee per person to get in for one day. So for our size family the pass was cheaper. Also when you possess the pass you dont have to wait in line. They have a separate entrance for pass holders. Just found out its 17.95 for adults, 12.95 for kiddos 2-12.. Under 2 is free.Family Plus $149 *Best Value! Member benefits for 2 adults in same household & up to 4 children. PLUS, 1 free guest each visit! Member benefits for 2 adults in same household & up to 4 children or grandchildren.

I would doubt they are going to be open much longer. Museums and public places like these are starting to shutter their doors. The zoo will probably follow suit very soon. It's also not worth the risk to your and your family's safety to go out to a place like this during these times. Avoid going out to public areas if you don't have to.
Hi Savannah - Our Zoo works on several different local and global conservation projects throughout the year. Some local programs do involve captive breeding of threatened wildlife then releasing them into their natural habitat to boost population numbers. Information on these programs can be found: www.rwpzoo.org/zoo-initiatives. We also assist with other global programs in different countries that allow us to do the same. Hope this helps! Thank you.
Hi Lowell - I can't say for sure since I'm not certain of the exact instance, but that may have been Alice. She is quite the talented artist.
They sometimes have sloths, depends on the season. And no you cant get too close to them
