It's definitely quite a walk, for someone with any leg or knee problems especially. There's one incline from the giraffes to the seal and the farm animal area, nothing too crazy but again might be for yourself or your husband in addition to the overall length of the entire zoo if you wanted to visit all the animals. They offer carriages or carts for children but I do not know if the have anything similar for adults to make it easier. However if you have a walker or wheelchair you could obviously bring those along incase you were to get overwhelmed and tired or sore during your visit. Hope you enjoy your visit if and when you and your husband decide to visit!!!
To honestly enjoy every exhibit and take in the environment it takes average an hour to a hour and a half. They do have plenty of "cool off stations" and such but most of the exhibits are outdoors. Also there are some hills but for the most part it's not that bad
There are 2 hills I would worry about to get to the upper part of the zoo if you have knee problems. It is a beautiful walk. But it is long. There are railings so there is a place to steady yourself. Also lots of benches along the paths.
