Beautiful windy beach, not too crowded during the midweek, the Jalama hamburgers and beer battered onion rings are amazing!

The day we were there affected the store hours because hwy 1 was being closed down going back to Lompoc at 6pm. This caused a ripple affect that they had to let staff go home early.
They have some in the day use area also they have grill over the fire pit.
A little tip: If you guys do forget your tent anchors, fill your grocery bags with sand and place them inside your tent in the corners.
Google Santa Barbara Country parks camping. Open link and it'll show two campgrounds, click on Jalama...
Always check in with them. It's a new day, everyday the seas!
Unfortunately, no. To the NorthWest is Vandenberg Space Force Base, East is Union Pacific tracks, and South is a protected conservatory.
Visibly yes the wifi is there. But it can't handle the size of the campground. Thus usability maybe at 3 am can get a connection and simple communication usage.
On the coveted beach sites you can have any RV type with tents too. All sites are tents and RVs. There are electric hookup on the hill. There are also equipped Cabins on the hill too
Yes
that cabin fees are weekdays. 190.00 weekends. 240.00
yes , they open at 8 am and their breakfast menu is outstanding
Yes they have camping area too. i guess its 25 bucks
Get there by 11 AM. I hope you can get a first come spot. It's a popular place!
Not to sure. Haven't seen to many folks out there with poles.
No sites have water hook up. Only electric
Campgrounds are closed due to Covid19
You need a reservation. There are tent sites and RV sites.
I don't know, I was there on a long weekend and beach was closed. Only People with reservations were allowed.
Should be fine its a 15 to 20 min drive out there but a couple days or more walk out there for the zombies... but I think I did see a classic VW Bus full of them heading out there. They had dreds, long goatees, glasses, surfboards on the roof rack and a strang skunk smell in the air when we passed them, so they just probably chilling trying to calm the munchies with that Jalama Burger....
Husband was able to attend the work meeting getting wifi near the playground.
Im pretty sure you can yes
Yes
Yes. They are letting 2 people into store at a time to order. There is still day use.
Go online to Santa Barbara County Parks and you can make a reservation
Yes, very hard to get reservations but well worth it when you do.
Yes both i believe
Not the county beaches such as Jalama
Yes there are several first come available spots on the site.
Yes.
It is 8, but the rangers are not strict about it. Just remember to leave any "big city" vibes at home when going to this magical place!
@Dan Swets: It's a county park it even says so, not state park numb nuts! CA state park fee is $15, not $10! @Nine Star: Please read my question again then give helpful answer to it, thx. Name calling? I'm just copying Dan Swets... FYI: I'm a tourist, not a local. Where I come from all county parks are free. My question is not why the park charge a fee! Please keep your opinions to yourselves other then answer the question, thx for your cooperation.
Propane's closest availability is in Lompoc.
Ten dollars but if you have jalama burgers at the diner (have lunch) and get your ticket validated you get your money back
The road from the highway to the park is narrow, twisty and bumpy but people with large campers seemed to maneuver it without difficulty!
Go online list of park rules posted. No obnoxious noises. Quiet time 10. No glass on beach. Leave wild life alone. Treat park with respect you will get it in return Sad to see city visitors leaving trash on ground. Please dont do that pick up after yourself.
Theres no real space to have a wedding. No pavilion or pergola or anything. As the others said, it can be super windy. (Jalama means 'wind') i would suggest checking out Jalama Cañon and Ranch for a nearby wedding venue. You could always go rogue and just do the day pass at Jalama and do the wedding on the beach anyways.
Seen people take kayaks out to the kelp beds and dive
No it was paved, tent camping still exists. Over the years Santa Barbara County updated the place. But it is still same, quiet and great family place. One road in , one road out.
Yes, dogs are allowed on the back and the camp sites. We didn't pay an extra fee. We were there April 2017. -- Hope that's helpful.
I'd recommend getting there midweek if you're looking to get a first-come-first-serve spot and then you can stay more than one day as long as you already have your spot.
All the dog provisions, a leash and the dogs shot records, I'm not sure if you need them but always a good idea to take them. I would call ahead of time to find out.
Dogs are allowed on the beach. You can't leave them alone at your camp site.
