@Dan Swets: It's a county park it even says so, not state park numb nuts! CA state park fee is $15, not $10! @Nine Star: Please read my question again then give helpful answer to it, thx. Name calling? I'm just copying Dan Swets... FYI: I'm a tourist, not a local. Where I come from all county parks are free. My question is not why the park charge a fee! Please keep your opinions to yourselves other then answer the question, thx for your cooperation.
@Nhiasher Xiong how is this NOT a helpful answer? If you wanna know why it's not posted, email the Warden of Fish & Game, you'll get a proper answer to that question. This IS a helpful answer: You should just automatically assume, when visiting any Park, whether it's a county Park or a state Park, that there's going to be some kind of fee involved.
Local or not, those fees help pay to keep the California parks up to spec. They keep the parks open so that we all can enjoy them. Free or not, I try to keep an open mind and pay whenever possible because I want to keep enjoying them and I want my kids to keep enjoying them long after me. I'm sorry they did not post up a sign but unfortunately alot of that land you pass by to get there is privately owned.
When you pay it helps keep the park open. Lots to do at Jalama. Unless you don't visit the beach often. Also tell them you are there for lunch. They will give you an hour.
It's a California state park numb nuts...ALL of them have fee's....
