Had a friend go there for an emergency... Great service and prices.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had do not go here they don’t even take insurance

It's usually busy because people are leaving messages and they are on the phone calling back people that left messages. You may have to call a half a dozen times to get thru but if you leave a message they will call you back pretty quickly. They don't hire extra help because they try to keep costs down so they can keep our costs down so those of us on fixed income or just poor as dirt can afford to give our beloved animals the proper care they deserve. So it can be a little inconvenient at times and you do have to wait your turn but at least you can afford to pay the bill. Plus you get to practice your patience skills ha ha ha.
I know when i took my one dog in cause of a ruptured anal gland my bill was $29. Total and that was with medicines as well. Took my other dog in for a recheck from the emergency dog clinic and it cost me $19. And that was with two medicines as well. Had to have my one dogs teeth cleaned and a lot pulled and it was $162. and its only $5 for each tooth pulled. Have two going tomorrow morning for teeth cleanings. But they are by far the cheapest around. But sometimes the wait is long. If you call though leave a message as they do return calls over lunch and after hours. They told me to always leave a message of i need to talk to someone. Good luck. But I have 3 dogs and couldn't afford them plus the yearly flea and heart worm meds if in didn't use Mavericks. Been going here since the day they first opened. Awesome staff as well.
They're open for surgeries and emergencies.
If you cannot get their hours, you can always order flea/tick prevention on Chewy.com or 1800petmeds and have it sent straight to your home. :)
Less much less
No you don't! I used to work there. If your animal needs shots it cancels out the visit fee
Yes! A visit is 17-25 .00
Yes. They are very compassionate and gentle throughout clinic when this procedure is done. They light a candle at front desk to symbolize a fur baby has passed. So the folks there keep low voices while you grieve. They will exit the parent to back door for privacy. Their cost is reasonable as well. They will assist with crematory arrangements or place they have your baby sent to. Hope this has been helpful. Tracey 😺
The price is right. $65 for initial consultation $25 dollars for rabbies vaccine
They don't make appointments. You sign in on a board at the door before they open and are called in in order of sign in at either 9 or 2. They answer voicemails. Just hold on and listen to their message.
Thre great we the animals the price you can't complain and sometimes at second visit don't charge if you go and put your name at 12:00 you come back at 1:45 the will answer any questions for you
I'm not really sure but if you call there they'll give you a recording that says the times and days that they are open did I do recommend taking your kitten there they're the best
Check with Human society of orange park. They may neuters stray cats for free & they have time to answer calls. This not a knock to Mavericks. They just crazy busy & focus of the patients in front of them.
Why don't you take him and see if they treat it first might be able to keep him alive or. Cure it
Just call and make an appointment. They only make appointments for surgeries all other times its first come first served.
For just an exam shouldn't be but around $40 or a lil more. It you do go make sure you bring all paperwork in regards to vaccination, purchase etc. If you all they will call you back..but Mondays are really busy. Hope this helps
As stated above, it's best to call. They are very busy but they will call back. The wait is worth the caring way they treat your precious pet !
The best vet for reptiles is Dr Rossi at Riverside Animal Hospital. He loves snakes and reptiles and has alot of experience with them and has written some books I believe. He is a regular priced vet though and not cheap. I worked with him as a tech many yrs ago. And he also will do other exotics.
This is one of the best facilities around. The doctor and staff love animals. You have to be patient, they are always filled up. It's worth the wait time because of the price and quality of care.
They kept my little kitty they're overnight because I was too far to drive back that night and get her that day but they're wonderful on every level $120 that's what they charged me to take nine teeth out of my baby
Free at the humane society, but you make an appointment.
Maverick Is the best
Maverick animal clinic is currently closed from Jun7 to Jun 14
Make an appointment and leave your pet overnight
Don't know, but positive that price is better here. Never have had post surgery complicación of any kind. They are excellent. Worth my 3 hours travel.
You just walk in. No other issues. Not everyone is wearing masks. 😷
SS or beaches?
To my knowledge they do, Dr. Jenkins is extremely kind and professional. She is wonderful, good luck to you and your Pet Rabbits 🐇🐰🐇
No, everything is done on a walk-in and wait basis but it's worth it.
They do not crop. Only place around that still does is All Animal Clinic and it is around $800.
No they dont crop
I'm not sure, but in general their prices are better than anyone else I have heard.
They do. It's required before buying a HW preventative or before any major procedures. I want to say it's approximately $28 plus the $15-25 clinic visit fee, but I could be wrong.
904 276 8101 if busy keep trying
Noon to 2pm
Given their volume its better to stop by in person in my expierience
There's a reason that they are always busy. Dr. Sleeper is great and the fees are very reasonable!
Maverick is the only place to go. Only place affordable. And they will work with you on cost.
I don't think so but First Coast No More homeless pets does spays based on income.
Have you gave all your pet supplies away. A stray cat has been at our home 4 a month.so we need a cat carrier if u have one. Thanks.Lee
Had a mass cut off our dogs leg. Cost 300$
It depends if your pet is a new patient and some of the prices have changed. Leave a message, they will call you back.
Yes, they do dental work. As for the cost it depends what needs to be done.
I don't know the exact cost friend but I can confidently say your cat will receive the best of care at the most affordable rate at Maverick ! You will be offered a choice as to wether or not you'd like to have pre surgical blood work too ! Oh and yes , you'll need an appointment . Good luck 👍
Definitely take her in !
No matter what the price is, it's the best price you're going to find in that area. No More Homeless Pets in Jax sometimes has specials because of city funding that is country specific, so if you're near enough, you might call them. Sometimes they do it for free for kittens and mom. You'd have to call. But other than that, Maverick Animal is the absolute best place to go!
Yes, the are awesome n very reasonably priced...
It changes on different day's so it's best to call.
They still declaw it's under 100 and yes they are awesome to work with and great to pets
Call and ask
Yes, open Vets Day
It's best to call. If you have to leave a message they will call you back
Yes , as a rule. Closing time is closing time!
They estimate the time based on the amount of people that signed in and then let you know if your pet can be seen. Emergencies take precedence.
Walk in only unless as stated above for surgeries.
Sorry but no they don't, the prices are very reasonable though.
Whatever it costs, it is STILL FAR CHEAPEST and best vet in north Florida. For a new customer probably pay for each animal. Also get there early and expect a long wait. Wed and Thu best days as usually quieter
I always go at 2 pm .you can sign in at 12 noon.then come back at 2 . usually out by 3..and I usually have 2 or more dogs
Love Mavericks....great price for a little wzit.
No, they don't. I have Care Credit myself and was kind of disappointed to find out they didn't accept it however the benefits I get from going to Maverick far outweigh the inconvenience of them not accepting Care Credit
in the morning they put the sign in sheet out between 7 and 7:30 am for surgical sign ups and Dr's visits. But they don't start Dr visits until about 9am. So if you live real close you can drive over sign up and go home and be back by about 8:30 or if you live to far away sign in and go have breakfast or something. They also put the sign out at noon for afternoon visits you can sign up and be back just before 2pm when the Dr's get back from lunch. Don't cut it to close to 9am or 2pm because if they call your name and you aren't there they move you to bottom of list. But i live less then ten miles away and have signed in at both times and I go home and then bring my dog back with me about fifteen to thirty minutes before the Dr's start seeing patients at 9am or 2pm. For surgical drop off you need to get there at 7 or earlier sign in and just stay because they get them back pretty quick to prep for surgery. You can call them about which days are busier and slower.
A long as you can prove your animal is up to date on exams and shots at your vet and they can verify it with your vet.
One reason they are so inexpensive is they do not have staff to do one job. They are not very big and the employees work very hard. Take them a treat!
If it's adult shots including the one you need of you are going to board your dog it's $55.00. But I get the boarding shot included because I live in an apartment complex and my dog gets exposed to a lot of dogs and I figure it's better to be safe then sorry. So $55.00 for shots and $25.00 for Dr visit that's not bad at all.
Yes they have fax machine
Sounds like they charge all kinds of different rates. I was charged $25 + extra for everything else. They took x-Ray's but never showed them to me. I don't recommend Maverick anymore after the things i saw, and what others shared. No exams hardly ever, they don't have time, i was told by one very repeatedly. They don't like you asking questions. If your animal needs surgery, go elsewhere... They leave doors open, no sterile gloves or masks, for surgery - multiple people have posted this too and they failed to diagnose and treat my animal repeatedly until it was too late. Cheap does not equal quality. Be careful and on top of your pet's care of you go there. I go elsewhere after my animal died after multiple visits and let interested by them. Good luck to you. i know people who say good things, but i know plenty of people who say they would never take any animal there, and that the place is filthy and should be shut down. I have come to agree after learning the hard way.
They are good to deal with,. Very reasonable and thorough. Their method of operation is different but i use them for my standard poodle and they are great with her.
Why would you drive a few hours to go to Maverick? Especially if you don't know their hours or otherwise? But, no, they do not take appointments for exams. Fridays and Mondays are typically their busiest days. Good luck, and please keep your pets safe and secure on road trips... With seatbelts, and water, and pickup bags, and of course leashes, and/or crates to transport. Treat them as if they were human babies that are required to be properly secured.. They are a most precious cargo. Have a safe journey to and fro... And rather than traveling 3+ hours, maybe you will find an experienced vet near home, though I am sure you have your reasons for traveling so far just to get them checked out. The reason I mention this, if you live in Tallahassee, it would behoove you to have a family doctor for your pets, which is in your neighborhood, who can be more familiar with your animals, as well as being close to home, especially for more urgent needs. Good luck to you.
A cat 14 years old, assuming it has had its shots previously, fires not require further shots for immune function. If it has had rabies vaccines, which are 3 year vaccines, also does not need more, continual rabies vaccines. If for health certification puppies you require proof of rabies vaccines, you can get titre testing done, to prevent the problems associated with vaccines. Maverick can do titre testing. If you do not know the cat's medical history, you may want to consider vaccination. If it is outfit car, versus indoor cat. The choice is yours. But, you can also go to the PetShots Clinic, which is every four or five weeks in Clay County and other counties...5-7 locations every Saturday, no exam fee, and the shots are possibly less expensive than Maverick. I refuse to use Maverick for multiple reasons, which many people in Clay County can attest to the filthiness in their clinic. No appointments, except surgeries are scheduled, all else is come and wait. Good luck.
Yes, as someone else mentioned, Maverick's will be open per usual, just not today, which means they will be likely busy, and they don't have very much indoor seating, and it will be freezing temperatures in the morning, so bundle up you and your fur babies.
if you mean like emergency hours, no. there's the emergency vet on wells rd by the Harley dealership that opens at 6:30 I believe.
The best way is to call and leave a message. They will call you back. As they are so busy during hours. Been going here for years with all of my dogs. Last time i was there i asked about calling them. She told me to call over lunch time and leave a message and they will be sure to call me back. They have lunch from 12-2p everyday. But they have different hours some days then they use too.
I wouldn't do that but maverick is a great place.
No, don't work for them but they are open M-F..monday and friday are the busiest days..
It goes by weight
Surgeries are scheduled usually in the morning, and usually nothing to eat or drink from late night prior, but you have to ask them. And as someone else mentioned, surgeries have to be scheduled, unless it is emergency. Good luck, and I hope your animal recovers well.
I don't think they will terminate a pregnancy just don't know
Not to my knowledge. They like to see the pet for health maintenance.
