Horrible experience. I drive an hour to get a birth certificate. And as soon as I fill out the kiosk..... they say their processors are down......... I need the birth certificate by Monday. And they're saying I can come back another time or order it online.

They misspelled my spouse's name on my newborn's birth certificate. I have tried calling to get the issue resolved, but I am just transferred to a voicemail and nobody calls me back. I asked the operator if I could email the correct department, but he refused to give me their email address stating I could just ask them for it. That is kind of hard to do if they never answer or return calls.

What a great experience. System is set up for efficiency. Karla was a ray of sunshine and helped me get everything I needed. Came prepared to stay a while and we were out in nothing flat even with a room full of people. Way to go Kansas! Thank you Karla! It was a joy to get to work with you on this sunny (non-snowy) day.

If you download the IKAN app, you can order it, $20, and either have it mailed or pick it up
its closed to walk ins i was just there
You can visit our website at kdhe.gov and click on vital records for many different ways to order as well as fees that associate. It's super easy!
If you have questions.... You can call the office during business hours.
You can call or walk in during the office during business hours. If you can wait to receive it. There's also a way to order copies by mail or onlne. I have made the trip to walk in to get different records. It not a hard thing to do. Marriage & Death Certificates are Public records and can be picked up by anyone.
I'm not sure you can do that through the office or not. I can say that when you get there there are a number of screens that you log all of your information in and what you need. When they call you to the window they're prepared to help you quickly. I noticed there are a lot of online places that will help you get your documents but they charge a fee and I'm not sure they're associated with the office.
In person Go to Curtis State Office Bldg., 1000 SW Jackson, Ste. 120, Topeka, KS 66612. M-F 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Enter the revolving doors on the north-west side of the building, behind the flagpole. HI Shirley! As long as we have your certificate on file and we have app, proper identity and eligibility (along with payment) u will walk out with it the same day (takes 20 min max once u pay). Walk in hours are 9-4 mon-fri. Hope that helps! Come in and see us!!😀
Hi Susan as long we have them both on file. Then yes you can!😀
Kansas records are only available through the topeka office but can be ordered in alternative ways besides making the drive.. visit Kansas department of health and environment and choose vital records to obtain all ordering options.
You can also call the office to get help while you are on the website too.
They start at $15.00 for a certificate.
Yes topeka is the only vital records in Kansas. Walk in hours are 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday. Or u can go to KDHE.com and find out how to order by mail, etc.
It's been fixed
The building is closed today due to a water main break. Unsure about the status of the building for Tuesday or Wednesday. Office will be closed Thursday & Friday.
Plus delivery
Question... have you ever had an ID in Kansas? If so you maybe able to contact someone to help get it replaced. Your ID has your picture on it and the state has a copy on file. Family maybe able to help you to obtain replacement documents.
There's street parking & parking lots.
Picture ID issued by state or federal gov or Passport.
Call the office directly, during business hours.
I change my daughters middle and last. You have to have a judge order it and if there is another parent you will have to have permission. This requires an attorney in the state of Kansas and sometimes a guardian ad litem as the childs best interest has to be protected.
The copy you get from vital statistics is what the dmv is looking for. 15$ is what they charge
You live close to Topeka? Walk in and they look it up and you pay $15 per copy and can leave with it.
Yes there are stairs. There is also an elevator. 3 actually.
Not sure I don't remember how long it takes to process. Received via UPS fairly quickly
Birth certificates.and at one time social security cards ECT.. But not anymore! Just birth certificates......
Yes.
Most birth certificates will not show the time of birth anymore
If you go there, you can have them give you one in person. If you don't need it right away, their website has a way to order them and have them mailed.
Decrees are housed at the county level. So no
Can I get a certified birth certificate the same day?
Yes and it's $15.
Yes
Have you tried calling the office at (785) 296-1400 ?
I ordered mine online from their website and picked it up when they emailed me stating it was ready. The requirements for obtaining it is also listed there. However I had no photo ID to use so I called them and explained the situation and they accepted my other id forms ( ss card and utility bill/ bank statement. For proof of residence) I did have to answer questions online regarding my history that was asked about me for verification of citizenship. You can also have them mail the copy yo you if you don't want to pick it up.

You actually need to order online and pick will call. They will email you once you have it
$20 for the first copy and $15 for additional copies
It took a minute to get my granddaughters first ID. You HAVE TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING:: Social Security card After ordering it on line. We ordered it online, within 48 hours, they notified us it was ready. Drove down to Topeka to pick it up. 20.00 & 15 minutes later, we were on our way home.
they aren't accepting walk ins at this time. You need to go onto their website and order the birth certificate online and they will let you know when it's ready for pick-up. It usually is a 3 day waiting period
Yes
We are closed today and will be open back up tue at 9am.
I got my marriage certificate from 1971 earlier this year. It was $15 plus $12 or 13.95 to order online. Took about a week to get it.

Have you contacted the KDHE office directly. You can call them by phone 1-877-305-8315. Or online link http://www.kdheks.gov/vital/birth_howto.html
Have you called the office on the phone? +1-877-305-8315
Contact Geary County, to make your inquiry with them.
I sent a return self-addressed stamped envelope to them with my request and I've been there at the office, and I've called them on the phone and I live in Indiana. The people there are extremely nice and efficient.
Yes,we got married on the judge in court house but base on the paper it says Marriage license instead of marriage certificate. Is it the same?
Justin if you have someone that needs a birth certificate and was born in the state of Kansas this is where to get their birth certificate. But you must have the proper id in order to get it. A family member can walk in and get a document with the proper id or a form filled out by the person needing the document. Call the office during business hours and they can help you. It's not difficult to get help.
Absolutely! We are open 9am to 4pm.. come I'm with proper I'd and we will get you started.
The state offices are open, so they should be too
Your photo ID maybe needed. Places & dates are also needed. But depending on where and when how long the research may take. I got documents from the 1960s and was in & out with them in less than a hour. ** NOTE. But the county has to file in vital records with the state in ordered to get them.
If you have county, names, where, when and your ID. You should be okay. I had to get a divorce decree from the 60s and they found it.
Yes
Photo ID helps.... http://www.kdheks.gov/vital/birth_howto.html
If the child is yours. You only need a non expired government issued ID
Call vital statics and ask them
Yes, only if you to the office during business hours.
If you were born in Kansas call 7852961434

Have you called the office of vidal statistics?

$15.00 each
You can call them or go to the county if where (you got) married.
An immediate family member can With a valid id
You can use 2 alternative forms of ID such as.... a bank statement... utility bill... or car registration/ insurance with your current address. There are other options as well.
Vital check isn't a scam. Might try calling up there and seeing if they have your order. They should be able to look it up. It could have gotten returned in the mail
Yes
Social Security Office will issue you a new card free. You get 9 free ones OVER a lifetime, unless they changed policies
Got my birth certificate, no problem fast easy
I believe you need to contact the State Dept. You may have to go through the U.S. Embassy. It's a pain in the bottom for sure.
Yes
$ 15 for each copy. But if they have to research it, there may be an additional cost for that as well.
