Kansas Cosmetologly Board has some really ridiculous rules. I have tried to take my tests twice. The first time I was marked as no show even though I was there. I was even early for my first practical test. So I forfeited $150.00. Even though they had film of me being there on time. Today I tried a second time to take my tests. I had my drivers license and a copy of my birth certificate. They won’t take a copy of your birth certificate, why I don’t know. I don’t have an original. I am adopted and this is what they gave my parents at the time of adoption. The Fed Govn. will accept a copy, why can’t Kansas. I guess they think they are better than the Feds. The instructor asked if I could go home and get my social security card. I live over an hour away. There was not enough time for me to go home and get back in time for my second test. Surely the board is not that broke they need everyone’s money that bad. This harder to get a license than trying to become a police officer. They are awful. No compassion. Just sorry, too bad for you.

These ppl could care less about the Pandemic! I paid $50 for a license I never received. And because I contacted them on the 34th day and not by the 30th day, I have to pay another $25 to replace it!!! Such bs

This place is a jock , Topeka test site in particular purposely failing students in the practical tests , I don’t know if it’s money motivation or what , practical test is shortened on time that it’s impossible to do what you want , even though you try your best but you fail without knowing what you done wrong ? If they at least explain what they need you to do that would help . Who on earth can cut a woman hair in 15 min ? That’s a jock , let me see them doing it the way they asking in 15 min , no assistance at all , no videos to watch on the internet for Kansas practical exam to give you an idea, and what they have listed for steps for the cosmetology practical test on the website don’t match what they played on instruction video when you taking the test , 4 times now I take the test and the results are always different , Ayer getting 100% on set up when I took the test in Wichita Topeka gave me 50 % they not even know what they doing , they frustrating students not helping.,

So people need to stop living in fear and get over the masks. I cut hair and I see a lot of people and about 98% of my clients I see hate the masks and all say their doing more harm then good. Plus I've been hearing from a lot of them that the flu is way worse then having covid. They rather have covid then be banned to the bathroom. Plus I've even had a hard to breathing, talking, and have heard about clients passing out in the chairs because of the masks, plus my oxygen has been low even. We need to move forward and have a choice to wear the masks or not and not be muzzled like dogs. It's not going to do any good come the fall because our bodies haven't been building up there natural ability to fight of infections because our immune system will be weak due to the mask wearing. We need to move forward and due away with the masks and a bunch of people I know would agree with me and want the same.

The expiration date is set on your license you recieve from kboc.
Crystal S is wrong. You must be licensed in the state and work at a licensed studio. Any work outside of a licensed studio is illegal and a felony.
Look on your license or call the kboc
Microblading in Kansas is considered to be permanent makeup which is licensed under the kboc body art/tattooing. You must have a tattoo license to do microblading in Kansas. Which means you must complete an apprenticeship of 1200 hours under a licensed tattoo artist that has their trainer license at a licensed studio.
