The staff are very nice, but the member portal is a joke. Every time I try to log in it says my email isnt recognized. Even though it is the same as it has been for 20+ years. Won't offer to let me use my security questions or a code sent to my phone # that is on file, to verify my identity. Says I have to call to set up my account, which already exists. Phones are only manned until 4pm weekdays. Trying to do my taxes on the weekend. Need my 1099, which they are required to mail but didn't. Hello! Welcome to the 21st century. Maybe hire a competent team to manage the portal so members can log in without the headaches and your staff can focus on assisting callers with other issues.

Really terrible experience with this company! My father had been using it for over 20 years. He passed away 4 years ago and they were supposed to give me a death benefit. Since I was a full time student under 23 (this was their stipulation) after providing proof they took the longest time to respond back and finally they tell me that I do not qualify to receive the money that MY FATHER paid into. It’s a really twisted system. They do everything in their power to NOT pay out to their clients and their families. I highly recommend not trusting them with your money, time, or anything for that matter. Amy Brown was the woman I had to deal with, absolutely terrible!

That will depend on your elections with your employer.

You can make election choices so that someone you designate gets payments for a period of time (what you choose and age of other person determines how much your benefit is reduced. Or you just designate a beneficiary who will get what’s left over (if anything) after you pass.
