I was at the Denver Motor Vehicle Main Office last week to transfer a title. They do not take appointments. It's first come first serve. They open at 7:00 a.m. If you get there around 6:45, then you will be at or near the front of the line when they open. If you go later in the day, then expect a 45 minute, or longer, wait just to get in the building.

First thing in the morning is the best time to go. You don't need an appointment. But get there early, 7-7:15am. I was done in 30mins once they opened. You can renew plates online so check on that first.

You have to show up in person, give them your info and sign into a queue, then they will text you when it's your turn and you need to return within 5 mins of receiving the text or you lose your spot. When I was there midmorning it was 30-60 min wait to get the text. I also went right at 7am one day and it was about 10 mins to get in.

You can't even bring in an emissions test from another part of Colorado as the DMV certifies your information within the county you live in. As of right now, not exactly. What you do is you go down to the office and check in, they give you a number and you provide your phone number, and then when you are the fifth person in line they will text you to come back to the office to complete your appointment. It can take anywhere from an hour or two, so that allows you to go and run other errands if you have any.

Unfortunately Google makes it hard to tell you the difference between Plates DMVs and DL DMVs. However, most DMVs should have a list for you that has the lists of all DMV addresses and what each do.

You should be able to. If you have a your receipt there is a code that you can type in with your plate number. It should cost you about $4.00. Go to Colorado..gov and click on vehicle services and look for Duplicate Registration. It should walk you thru the process and let you know what info you need to get one.

On a normal basis, whoever is on the title will print their names on the seller lines on the back and then whoever is going to be on the new title signs and prints their name on the buyer lines. That's basically it on a normal basis. So you need the title, id(s) and money.
