This place is awesome. Yeah I wish they were open 24 hours but you gotta start somewhere π The staff is very respectful and they do an outstanding job taking care of our service members! We are honored to have them and the USO supporting us βππ

Appreciate the volunteers. This place should be 24/7. Traveling with family after a long flight, this would have been a great place to rest before our next flight.

This place was like a little heaven on earth. I had a long layover before my flight, so I stopped in here to relax. The staff was super nice! There was a theater, a lounge area (inside and outside), and a huge snack bar! Free WiFi, comfortable chairs, restrooms, showers... literally everything you could need! When I went to catch my flight, they even had carts in the back for your luggage. I would highly recommend this USO. Thank you for your hospitality!

After arriving 8-hours early for my flight, the USO provided me with a clean, quiet place to take a nap. The internet service was fast and allowed me to check my emails and conduct some work.

It's 24/7 365
Yes, it's across the street between terminals 1 and 2, so you dont have to pass through security to get here. Staying overnight isnt a problem.
Small but comfortable plus you can take a shower.
Actually, I don't believe you can. The USO is not open to all veterans. They are only open to active duty and retirees. You have to have a valid military ID. THE OFFICIAL ANSWER Is NO However, there is a possibility that the person managing the desk will be generous and allow you in. As a retiree, I was allowed to spend the night not long ago, even though the rules do not allow it.
They are now located across from terminal 6 and have 3 spots for 10 minute parking
No, sorry. The Auxiliary is a fantastic organization, but the USO doesnt allow them to access their facility. I wish they did!
A dependent can stay there for as long as they are open assuming they have an ID showing that they are a dependent of a military member. It is my understanding that Bob Hope uso office is no longer 24/7 and has new hours because of covid-19. I believe they open at 0900
Well, first off I completely agree with you vets should be shown some support too, but since they run completely off donations and volunteers I can also understand it's not feasible for them to accept every person that is and has ever served. They focus on those actively serving and are doing a fantastic job. I am grateful to have such an amazing benefit while serving and will understand when the time comes and I retire the they can only focus on those actively serving.
The USO is not only outside security, it is not in any terminal. It is now housed in the Theme building (the one that looks like a spaceship). It is located between the old USO building and terminal 6 with the entrance facing terminal 6. Just for clarity... LAX terminals are organized in a U shape. Terminal 1 and 7 are across from each other and form the tips of the U shape. Bradley International terminal forms the base of the U shape. All terminals are only a few minutes walk away from the USO. But keep in mind that you cannot get to the USO without leaving the secured areas. As to WHY? The USO does not pay rent. Every airport donates space or not. Your question needs to be directed to the proper LAX authorities as to why they do not place it behind security. HINT: It's current location is nearly central to the entire complex.
Veterans, active duty, reserves, guard and dependents with ID.
Sorry, no. See below. Also, USO LAX may be less than 24/7. Call to be sure. Explain your Status, including if MOH or 100% VA. Ask for the NAME of who advises you. Please leave a donation. Pleae clean up after yourself. Pleae thank VOLUNTEERS. Be safe. Quiet. Respectful. Honorable and Kind.
As long as you have a valid military/dod ID card
Officially, no, they do not do overnight for retired military. If there is space available, you can always hope they make an exception, or call in. But according to their page on the LAX website, they only serve retirees between 4am and 10pm. And yes, you will need ID showing you are a military retiree dependent.
The USO move is scheduled for the end of May. It will be moving behind the current location. In the landmark structure that looks like a flying saucer. The USO will be located at the bottom. The USO space will be bigger and modern. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately they dont assist veterans. In fact, I dont think there's anything at all for vets at LAX. At the USO, only active duty, reserves, and active foreign military allowed, plus their guests/dependents. Retirees are also currently allowed except between the hours of 10pm to 4am.
USO expects to move in June. Current facility remains open. Please stop by.
The USO is only accessible by foot from any terminal. You must leave the terminal and walk over.
Yes, they have a sleep room. Pillows and blankets available.
I just called them. Vets are not allowed there unless they have a retired ID.
You can leave your bags
As of today 3/8, it is Not 24/7 yet.
Currently open 9am to 9pm Thursdays and Fridays.....9 to 5 Mondays to Wednesdays
I would call to confirm. I was there last Friday, they were ready to close at 1700 but let me in and stay until 1800 when check in for my flight opened. I would call to confirm. Also road construction had the access shut off, but we got in to get dropped off after talking to one of the workers.
Its for active service men and women.
Technically she can only stay for two hours. However, if there is no one else there, she might be able to stay longer. It's up to the staff.
As long as you have an active duty identification card and orders or leave papers then by courtesy you should be admitted. I have seen several foreign military in uniform in various USOs. Your dependents should also be welcome. You might want to call ahead and get the name of the supervisor you speak to just in case. Most personnel at the USO are volunteers. Many many times I have been there and the only people there were new and didn't know all the rules.
Yes for extended layovers.
The USO doesn't allow American Veterans that are not retirees in... so sorry... no.
Yes as long as your with her and she has a picture ID like a DL
The USO is outside security in the building that looks like a spaceship. The entrance is facing terminal 6. The terminals at LAX are in the shape of a U with terminals 1 an 7 forming the tops of the U shape and Bradley International Terminal forming the base. The USO is between 2 and 6. It is closer to 6 with the entrance facing 6. It is only a few minutes walk (or shuttle ride) from the entrance to any terminal... the longest being from Bradley.
It depends on the day, and or who's working. I seen different things each time I go.
Not allowed to be kept there for that long when you leave you have to take your luggage with you
They have no parking available. They have 2 spaces that are limited to 15 minutes.

Depends what they have going on that day
I don't think it's their policy to allow it.
Yes. The only restriction I know of is for retirees. They have to leave at 10 pm
I'm not 100% sure. You can call ahead and ask. But if lax is just a connecting flight then the uso is out if question. The uso is outside of the airport.
There is about 12 recliner chairs they are like beds and there is usually a few open at any one time.
You'd have to ask the airport if they have a military discount. The USO has no parking facilities.
Disabled vets with ID are allowed from 0600-2200.
Yes, but your sleeping on recliner chairs. There are no beds or private rooms. Its squad bay accommodations
The 3 - 10 min parking spaces are immediately in front of the USO entrance and are marked by green paint.
Located in the Theme Building (iconic -see web) between terminals 2 & 6. Between the parking structures.
Yes, you are allowed a guest regardless of relationship. You can download the USO app and check in before arriving and simply show that you've done so
Donna Shobe's answer is mostly correct. Hours for retirees is 0400 to 2200. They are trained that retirees are not allowed outside these hours, so it doesn't matter if they are empty, your still not supposed to be there. HOWEVER, I have had a kind volunteer allow me in. But you have NO grounds for insisting or demanding they give you access even if it's empty
Retirees have access to the USO from 4am to 10pm. They have no parking.
I agree with Jermiah & Arron but if you want Google & go with the cheaper
That is not correct. A valid military dependent ID is required for family members to bring in 2 guests at the Bob Hope USO Center.
The USO is now located in the Theme Building. You will need to exit the airport terminal. The USO is between terminals 2 and 6. The USO would be a better choice than the airport, especially with a long layover.
The USO is not in any terminal. It is located between terminals 2 and 6. It is easily walkable from any terminal. The entrance faces terminal 6.
The USO isn't located inside any terminal. It would be very difficult for them to assist you and, in fact, don't have staff to do so. Every airline provides assistants to help you get from place to place.
The mission of the USO is to provide services for active duty and their dependents. As a courtesy they accommodate retirees.
The USO has 3 parking 10 minute parking spaces... so, no
It's not that it's too much trouble... it is that there are over 18 million veterans and the USO does not have space or funding to accommodate them. Their mission is and always has been to provide services to active duty military. As a courtesy they accommodate retirees on a space available basis. Unfortunately, that is where they draw the line.
No just for the day.
Yes, military retirees can use the USO with their retiree ID card. Me and my family have used it multiple times. I can only think of two reasons why mrdavianm would be turned away 1) if he is a veteran and not a retiree or 2) the USO was expecting a large troup of active duty to arrive en route to deployment.
Active military, not active component. Also retirees and families, but only service members can sleep there.
