They did call me back, and gave me some advice, I am still working on my case.
Ms. V
Wow this is unbelievable every where I call or go to handle taking care of business I get hung up on or yelled at 98 percent of the time. The people who get hired on these job have no problem verbally attacking or out right disrespecting if they feel the need to. As a black women I feel in every way and every area of trying to conduct taking care of basic business I am discriminated against. These companies hire anyone to have someone in the chair no matter if they have experience or not. How terrible.

Entirely CORRUPTED...they cannot help tenants who happen to have the SAME landlord they have...their office is owned by the SAME landlord who (not coincidentally) owns the entire city of LA....

They made me wait two weeks, and then told me that they wouldn’t be able to take my reasonable accommodation request, to help me get reasonable accommodation through a management company that basically ignored me. They referred me to the Department of fair employment and housing which takes months. I had to get a letter from my doctor, which I believe is standard protocol but still during the COVID-19 crisis it’s not easy -you can’t go into your doctor especially when you have autoimmune disorders. They won’t tell me why they wouldn’t take my case, Even though the intake person acted like that everything was fine and she was going to be taking it. Now I have a three week old letter, that I have to send to the management company on my own and they’re probably just going to laugh at me and wonder why I didn’t send it immediately. I don’t suggest them, they’re too slow they take a long time to call you back, and apparently they only help certain people. To my understanding the housing right center gets funds from housing and urban development in Washington. This is basically their funding and probably some donations. They did work with me about a decade ago but, even though they helped me, some of the counselors have a very bad attitude. When dealing with people that are afraid, anxious and nervous because housing is a fundamental right to survival, these people should be a little nicer and compassionate and they should probably have some courses for their employees when dealing with individuals that come to them for help. The standard, so sorry for the inconvenience, doesn’t cut it. Especially when you’re dealing with people living with disabilities. Thanks but no thanks

They can’t not force you to leave unless they have a court order
I'm in same boat
Im in the same situation. What was your outcome??
Look at the contract , unless is says the grass must be green paint it pink.
Sorry you had that phone experience. I've never called in, but I would recommend walking in and receiving counsel if possible. I don't think investigating discriminstion is a service they provide. But, they can give you the resource of Fair Housing in order for them to investigate your claims of discrimination.
Hey you can repair it and take it off the rent find a friend Plummer find a discount one and go to town get everything done you want install a Jacuzzi how you might need approval but then I just upgraded a little bit get it to go down the way you want and take it off the rent make sure you notifying first sometimes it's worth it to do it yourself and have it done right the first time
Check out "AB 1482", you may be protected from Arbitrary evictions, depending on where you live "RSO" may provide greater protections. 90 day notice is for HCV participants, they to have protections from evictions without cause
You always have to pay your rent no matter what. Document all the requests to fix the problem and talk to someone at the office on Wilshire. You will get a face to face rather than waiting for a call back. My 3 cents.
All housing matters can be discussed call or walk-in for information on landlord and tenant rights.
Go to Housing Rights Center and speak with a counsellor ASAP.
Yes, unless the rent stabilization ordinance applies
Sounds like a call to the police for tresspassing is overdue, hopefully not to much though, or they may be considered a lodger, call the housing Rights center to learn more
Probably want to call in for this answer because it depends. If living in LA city over a year, 60 days , and you have to pay rent. Wait could be different, thats is if you are under rent control
if its just dirty? You can pray you have a landlord who will say yes when you politely ask if they could clean the carpet or you can clean the carpet yourself because your landlord would not be obligated to
Some cases yes and some cases no it depends on several factors such as terms of the rental agreement where the property is located. call and speak with a housing counselor to get more specific answers to your housing situation
