Definitely the best place to adopt a pet / got my last two from here over the years they have been essential in helping the community. Say no to pet shops / Be a heart and adopt from here

We enjoyed the efficiency of the man who answered our questions at the door. No nonsense. The place (outside) was lovely. We wanted to volunteer. He said to apply on line. After some classes in dealing with the dogs, and willingness to clean, we may make it to dog walking some day. Our hope is to brighten the day of some dogs in lockdown.

Knowledgeable staff that care about their animals. Lots of medium to larger dogs. Though they have some smaller dogs towards the center of the kennels. Good selection of cats and kittens. Also have guinea pigs and rabbits of all types. To get in, you must bring your vaccine cards or digital card for yourself and your children (if your children are eligible for the COVID vaccine). This is to protect the animals as they are susceptible to COVID too. Parking in their parking lot is very limited. Their parking lot is also one way, so be mindful of how you enter. I recommend parking on the side street next to Best Buy and walking over if the parking lot is full.

The people were nice and the place was clean. I met techs from the vet's office next door and they were happy to help in locating my children's stolen therapy dog. Sparkle was reported missing on August 8, 2021 Saturday night around 9:30p in Mar Vista, near Inglewood & Venice Blvd. No tags or leash. 35-40 lbs. AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD/JACK RUSSELL MIX, frmale, spayed and 6 years old. Dark brown spot, dark eye mask and cropped tail. She is chipped. She requires special food and my kids are heartbroken. REWARD OFFERED!!!

The shelter only provides these for animals that are being adopted from the shelter. If you need them for your pet, you will need to seek out a private clinic. There are low cost clinics and services available. Just stop by the shelter and ask for a flyer for where and when they are held.
They hold onto animals as long as they possibly can based on how much space they have, how friendly and how healthy the animal is. They have a high adoption rate and do very well. In fact, the vast majority of animals entering this facility either return to their owners or go to new owners. Owners thinking of leaving an animal there should understand it should be a last resort after trying other options. It is the best place to bring an animal you find that doesn't belong to you as it is the first place and central location for owners to look for their pet. Best Friends in Mission Hills only takes animals from shelters. Not from owners or off the street. Pasadena provides services for th Pasadena residents.
Pillow cases and comforters yes , pillows no because the dogs tear them up. Thanks
As a general rule, you don't need to bring a crate you can just bring a collar and a leash. When I was a volunteer here my mother and I saw a couple of people taking their dogs on leashes to their cars. But if you adopt a bird, rabbit, cat or hamster you do have to bring your own crate so that the animal doesn't run away when his captors release him to you.
So why do you tell the people who bring animals in: leave them on the street if they are not injured??!! This was my experience and my friends after one year! Your personal makes the take in so unpleasant and just wants to avoid coming again. They are nice by giving the animals out and taking donations but not If they should have more work taking care of another stray. What will be your reaction when I bring a stray to your facility next time? I m ready to record this and make it public. Because the people there are for sure not animal lovers but workers with benefits.
Great place that cares about animals. Go adopt a critter today.
They will take her and give full ck up then put her up for adoption.
$122 This includes: -spay/neuter -vaccines (including rabies) -microchip (free registration) -City of LA dog license (1st year) -voucher for free vet exam Cash/Check/Credit accepted
Go to the kennel area of this facility and try to see if you can identify the dog you are looking for, write the animal identification number, take a picture of him if possible and go to the front counter to ask one of the officers or animal care technicians there if the dog you are interested in will be euthanized or not. I sincerely hope that you can adopt him fast before it is too late. Pray to god for guidance and hope for the best.
There is an ongoing need for newspaper, linens, and just about any pet supply
Absolutely You can just bring the dry dog food to the front of the building and let someone at the front desk know what you are about to donate and they'll take it from there ! Thank you for your kindness
Best to call 311 and they will guide you from there
PET PRIDE CAT SHELTER 3350 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034
Better to call the shelter directly
The process is very simple. Just go to the front counter and ask for an application, fill it out, ask them when they will have the next orientation for all the new volunteers and attend. But be very careful because if one of their staff members picks on you for some reason they will get rid of you the volunteer and do nothing to whoever picked on you. The woman who was in charge of the volunteers made fun of me for being blind by pulling my shades taking my cane from me and leaving me in the middle of the hallway and by making me trip on purpose. When I reported her to the captain they got rid of the blind one without an iota of compassion or remorse and did nothing to her. On the contrary, they applauded her for using my disability to test my reaction.
Due to the fact that they do alot of abortions it is not for sure that you will find a little bunny right away but I strongly suggest that you go to this facility tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. and go to the area where they have all the rabbits. Sometimes the officers find them out on the streets and bring them to the shelter and as far as I know each one costs aroung $57.00. When you find the one you are interested in adopting write down the animal identification number and take a photo of him if possible. Take this information to the front counter, fill out the paperwork, pay the fee and they should tell you when he will be ready to go home with you. Good luck!
First I strongly suggest that you post fliers with his/her picture on bus stops, stop signs or wherever you see other kinds of poles so that if someone knows his/her whereabouts they can call you and tell you where to pick him/her up. The best thing to do is go straight to this facility and speak to someone at the front counter or go to the kennel area to see if by any chance he/she has been found and brought to the shelter. Just be sure to take a photo with you along with the microchip and license number if you have them. Pray to god for guidance and hope for the best.
Clean cages, socialize the animals, launder bedding, answer adoption questions at shelters and mobile events.
I heard them mension once that they have some organizations that can help low-income people pay for their pets' medical bills. but to make sure this is true I strongly suggest that you go to this facility and speak to someone at the front counter or visit their website for more information. I also suggest that you call the information line, also known as human services, 211 and speak to an operator about this issue. Perhaps they might be able to refer you to one of these organizations. This line is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you can call them whenever you like. Good luck to you and I sincerely hope that you find the help you need very soon!
I belive u get a coupon for the vet next door
I think they do. You can always call.
If your dog has a microchip you will be contacted providing your contact info is up to date. Also check online at the shelter's website for your lost pet.
Hello! I'm so sorry to hear about your situation... I would suggest placing an ad on Craigslist asking for someone to rehome the kitty. If not, look into some nearby animal rescue agencies. Unfortunately, a lot of animals left at the shelter don't get adopted and are euthanized after a certain period of time. Particularly cats... the shelters are overflowing with them
Shelter is strict about your address\where cat was found. Has to be in their WLA area. Also if cat is lost cause medically , or feral\wild, they may put him down. So take cat to WLA only if very friendly or microchipped, or fixed (an indication he has owner). Sorry I can't be of much help
Of course they accept it there, they are very friendly.
Yes, on weekdays l, at least for now. You can go in on weekends without an appointment
Puppies are rare you have to keep trying the website has a breed of interest as well as age. Try the website
Rabbits are sometimes available for adoption for a $71 fee (Oct. 2021).
This is a question for the animal shelter..sure they have ur perfect puppy
No only what they have on the website. It's very limited 😦
You should check their website or call and ask. I think the south LA shelter has guinea pigs.
I'm not aware of any programs that would provide a discount, but the shelter regularly has events where the adoption fee is waived. I would follow their social media and website to watch for the next one!
The animals probably would not mind but check with the staff.
Only if you can feed the animal and take care of it's medical needs. Also recommend that you take yourself to a medical clinic. Stay healthy and strong if possible. Best wishes.
Get a utility bill if over 65 for lic disc n mzy be z fee required that'd it
I do not know but the just had an event for clear the shelters a week or so ago and the fees were 50%
Yes they will help you.
Call your refuse company...company which picks up garbage. If you are in the city of LA you can call 311 or the 311 app.
Contact them directly, they usually do
Contact them, I know they run specials
I don't know. Ask them
No they are not :(
Pet Sitting?
They have many cats. As far as know that is wrong and reduced prices are only during holiday's. If you ever need to check prices or availability of cats or dogs. Check out laanimalservices.com it can tell you anything you need to know
What I remember they will charge the most for puppies. Around 160. Of course it will include the license and neutered
They're located on Pico Blvd just west of Sawtelle Blvd.
Yes they have lots I saw one being brought in the other day
You need to visit the shelter to see if it is there.
There's no holding, first come, first served
On average in shelter its about $120 not the adoption but all the vaccine and neuter on the animal. But they are currently Lot of small dogs in shelter. Just last week i saw 12 smaller then a foot.
They may charge you for spaying, neutering, immunizations and an RFID chip.
Yes i believe so. Overcrowding and issues with the animal that makes them seem unadoptable are the most likely reasons
You can always go in. I had to once not long ago, on a Sunday, and it was packed. They have minimal staff, so I'm sure its because they are swamped.
I would highly suggest calling animal control instead of a shelter because although shelters take in dogs, they don't really pick up dogs that attack people. If you call animal control, however, they will most likely speak with their owner and take the dogs to a shelter (this one if it's nearby your place). Hope this helps!
How big are these cats?
Older and younger dogs have varying prices as far as I know and everything is included; microchip, vaccines, etc. Hope this helps!
Not when visiting the shelter. Young children should always be supervised. Over 18 and over to adopt
They get them in occasionally. Usually dogs 6 months and older. Puppies get adopted fairly quickly and they dont get them in all the time. Just check back in to see if any are there
The animal shelter will apply flea control on animals as they come in as needed. The animal shelter does not sell any medication. You may want to inquire with you local veterinary clinic for prices.
UPDATE: The shelter no longer "requires" a fee to surrender your pet. But they do ask for a donation instead. The shelter is open 24/7 to receive pets. Just ring the bell if it's after normal business hours. They will need to see a picture ID and there is a fee ($25 for dogs $22 for cats and $11 for rabbits).
Amber, if you can you should call a bunch of rescues first. Getting a rescue to take your pet will make sure he/she had a good future. The West LA shelter is really nice tho. Good luck Good luck
I didn't see any when i was there. They do have cats and rabbits though.
As far as I know they have hamsters sometimes but I am not sure if they have other types of rats here. I suggest that you go to this facility in person and speak to someone at the front counter to see if they have them. Good luck!
