The process is very simple. Just go to the front counter and ask for an application, fill it out, ask them when they will have the next orientation for all the new volunteers and attend. But be very careful because if one of their staff members picks on you for some reason they will get rid of you the volunteer and do nothing to whoever picked on you. The woman who was in charge of the volunteers made fun of me for being blind by pulling my shades taking my cane from me and leaving me in the middle of the hallway and by making me trip on purpose. When I reported her to the captain they got rid of the blind one without an iota of compassion or remorse and did nothing to her. On the contrary, they applauded her for using my disability to test my reaction.
You'll need to attend a training; check online for upcoming training times. The line up can be very long and space is limited (it's first come, first serve), so be sure to get there early!
Call the shelter and let them know of your interest in volunteering and your availability
Get an application and fill it out. Drop it off at the correct location. Attend an orientation
Idk but you are really cool!
