UPDATE: The shelter no longer "requires" a fee to surrender your pet. But they do ask for a donation instead. The shelter is open 24/7 to receive pets. Just ring the bell if it's after normal business hours. They will need to see a picture ID and there is a fee ($25 for dogs $22 for cats and $11 for rabbits).
You can do either one of these two things. You can take the easy way out, bring him to this facility and pay the $25.00, $22.00, or $11.00 fee to surrender him and answer some questions. Or you can call the human services line at 211, also known as the information line to see if they can tell you about organizations that can help you to get things such as medical care and food for him at a low or at no cost. Remember: if you leave your pet here there is a 100 percent chance that he will be euthanized due to lack of space or of potential adopters. Pray to god for guidance and hope for the best.
