This place is a hidden gem. It's fairly easy to get to, unless you're going on a Friday afternoon. There are a few different ways to get here, but you want to avoid the Cajon Pass if at all possible. Going through Crestline was just as easy. It's a beautiful recreational area, with a great staff, and lots to do. You can bring your own boat, for a small inspection fee. Or you can rent stuff here as well. They also offer camping. It's definitely worth checking out. I came here with a large group for a weekend event.
Wookers Garage
Perfect spot to test them out, routine maintenance and service before sending them back to the customer for rental @flipmotorsatv #wookersgarage #flipmotorsatv

We will be back! Wonderful winter camping in late December. Edit: These are views from our site, on the upper full hook up area.

The best way to enjoy this park is to go online first and see if you can book your reservations ahead- they sell out quickly! The campgrounds are awesome (except for the occasional yucky bathroom) there's clean showers and fire pits, grills, and the campsites are quite spacious, enough so you don't feel invaded by neighbors. They have boat rentals too, it's 1st come, 1st serve- get here before 5:30am so you can snag a reservation! There's also dock fishing and they're definitely biting!

Absolutely! I have on a number of occasions. A boat is recommended. I have pulled trout, largemouth bass and striped bass over the years. Good luck 👍
No matter wich lake you go rhe water is going to be kind of cloudy. only at the swiming pools the water is clear.
Yes
After July 22, 2020 don't go in the water
Yes, table/bench and BBQ grill. And also fire pit w/grill that you can open and close. 👍
Nope no fireworks
Verizon has two towers around the lake, the park doesn't provide WiFi. Some people whom had AT&T, had issues, as well as T-Mobile. One guy had Spectrum Mobile and he claimed he was getting good condition.
If you can bathe and the water is crystal clear when nothing else inside. On the ground there is earth
walking around it looked like every one was drinking a brew
Yes u can swim in the lake. Showers are 25cents need about 3bucks for a nice shower
Yes you can swim in the lake. There are 2 designated beach areas that are normally staffed with lifeguards.
It's first come first, first take. Need to be there by 430-5am. Park opens up at 6am. Then go to the store and you rent it there. Note** may have to go earlier if it's a holiday. They only have a few to rent.
Yes, only with RESERVATION. In the page. By silverwood lake
Yes.
Who knows?
Hello Mrs. Amaris Tomas, there is a cool climate, it goes from cool to too cold, you will totally enjoy the weather, it is delicious, have a beautiful day, you and your family, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Yes. And they sell them at the store there in case you forget yours.
Yes it is. Is like a $ 10 fee for parking
Yes.
You can call them directly or visit them online. Also, your boat must pass inspection and anyone operating the boat must have a boat operator permit as required by new state law. Here is a link to their website for more information. Hope it helps. Silverwood is a beautiful place with lots to do and see outdoors! I highly recommend it. For boat reservations call: 1-800-444-7275 Or visit: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=650
I went fishing on the dock a week ago
About two weekends ago they only let the first 200 vehicles in unless you have a camping reservation.
Yes, the campgrounds have it around the lake and there are plenty of spots
If you're talking about the rental boats they do not make reservations for them it is first come first serve if you're talking about a personal boat you don't have to have reservations at all to take your boat out and launch it
Stay there and get an hour free. You can use that anytime the marina is open. If you need more than an hour you or your paddler better be ready for a workout . Hope this helps!
No we had 34
Yes you can . I would call first because they do take reservations otherwise it's on a first come basis
Depends where you come in at. 15 + 138 has some steep climbs and some sharp turns. Yes road construction is going on to straighten it out a bit. If coming from Hespria via Summit Valley Rd. Then will have a less steep climb, and less sharp turns. Meets 138 at Country Store/gas station. If coming via 173, there are some sharp turns, but not bad from Hespria Lakes to Mojave Forks campground. Gets a little bit sharp on two turns, go slow and really no problems just more curves to 138. Should be wide enough and fine, meets 138. My travel trailer is 28'8" on box, 32'6" bumper to hitch. Campsites are just long enough for trailer and space is usually wide enough for side by side parking. If you want to see the camp sites, go to my picture if you want to see mid-day shade for RV sites. Full hook-ups at all RV sites.Power, water, Drain/Dump. Some restrooms where renovated about a year ago. Showers need quaters. And they have a dump station in case no using site with hook-ups.
if it will be open but take into account that maybe it is not full.
Turn left towards at first point after the booth sign will say cleghorn, head to lot six has a swim area. If you go straight, will come across signs for the marina, swim area is to the left of the bait shop. There is also a good area to swim and pull the jet ski up at. That area is to the left of the paddle boat and jet ski rental. Both areas have tables, restrooms / porta potty if closed for season. Cost $10 per vehicle for the day. There are covered patios near marina side. And the have BBQs at each spot for charcoal, and a charcoal pit to snuff out the coals.
I am assuming you mean for fishing. You can buy it there. 12 yr old and younger don't need one.
Want to reseve for camping but it's says unavailable 😔 whyy???
I don't think you can. Park closes at 8 pm
Depending on you're license.
Boat Type Deposit Minimum Each Add'l Hour All Day 14' Aluminum Boat $175 dep. $45/2 hrs $20 add. hr $165 all day 16' Jon Boat $250 dep. $65/2 hrs $30 add. hr $245 all day Pontoon $400 dep. $110/2 hrs $50 add. hr $410 all day
For major holidays you do and they sale out quick. But other times majority of spots are available.
They close the gate at 9pm but you can go around and get the envelop at the kiosk to put the money to camp. Then u can walk down to the lake considering there's a avaliable camp site it's quite busy around these months
Yes bone dry
Yes
I have not seen any rules about dogs swimming in the lake however I do know they are not allowed on the beach areas. I took my dogs into the water from the rocks and had no problems.
Yes but highly suggest to get there early as by 10am most spots are taken
ReserveCalifornia.com Reservations open up 6 months in advance
They vary, but the all day pontoon boat was 250
Yes there is. I usually take foil to put over the grill. And then cook like that
Yes, and sometimes you can have campfires. Ask when you get there.
Yes. You go through the main gate and follow the road to the shop down by the marina and the launch dock
Unless you have a reservation I'd advise to get the by 530 am they will fill up quick on a holiday weekend
Yes but must be leashed and can't be barking excessively or you will be asked to remove the animal.
Yes, there are.. Pretty clean too
Anytime between 5am-10am. Or after 4PM and 9PM. Fishing not so good during the day or winter.
No problem anybody can enter
$10 per car for the day i think it covers up to 6 people
Yes but everything is in hibernation
Yes there is camping check in with the Rangers it's beautiful peaceful up there..enjoy
It depends on where you camp.. But it's pretty far walking, I would say about 1 1/2 miles
There was no restrictions, people were responsible to stay 6 feet apart. Should be open they close at 7 but if you want front parking you have to be there early at least 7am
I think..that you can..because I don't see any advice said you can't...so I believe that..yes you can..but about the size..I don't know... hope I answer good and honest...
Don't forget you may need a California boating card as well
Yes u can, you can also take inflatables, to use in the beach area. It's pretty relaxed, people take grills and all kinds of stuff too; if you plan on making it an all day thing.
if you have a fishing license
yes. there's lake swimming.
I think they not only rent as cabins
Should be 😃
I'm not sure so far its been stripers and catfish
This appears to be true and will effect the day use. Copper sulfate treatment is an algaecide which helps to control algae and also the microscopic organisms which can cause swimmer's itch. Lake Silverwood is a man made lake that is part of the local water table.
It only goes but early because the parking lots are full
No. Jet ski rentals were suspended. Apparently the company was being sold. Small store sells inflatables. Best to bring your own. They have an air station to fill up. Consider bringing your own PWC.
Yes I was just there
I was there this weekend and people were catching striped bass. However, if your not part of the first 200 cars or have a camping reservation you won't be going in unless you don't mind the hike from the highway.
No. But the text area is close by. Walking distance. Reserveamerica has maps
There are public showers but they are coin operated. I did not use them but it looked like it was maybe like 2 dollars per use or so
If you are clear
Of course, he only wears a vest if you can't swim 😉
I've never had an issue. I imagine as long as the drinkers are being responsible and respectful it shouldn't be a problem.
We went today and it is open, but there is a warning that you can not touch the water due to contamination
I do not know if it's true
$10 per car day trip $40 for camping overnight but plan to make reservations ahead of time or you might not get a spot they fill-up quickly
The people next to our spot were using their grill from home. I believe as long as it's a bbq it is ok. I would ask upon entry just to double check though.
Going out on the lake before u get to the damn on the left side of the lake before the dam
Electric hook ups are only available in the camp grounds
Swimming, fishing, boating pretty much everything. rain season was good the lake it's realy nice.
I don't know about the algae. We saw people swimming when we went in June. I went kayaking but not swimming. It was a great place to camp and i would go back even for a day trip.
Yes you will need a reservation. If you can get a site 24 or 25 have alot of shade and close to the showers and restrooms.
Yes to both!
Yes. Its a state park. Camping swimming boating jet ski fishing hiking
No you can not
You can buy firewood right there from the Rangers at the main gate
You wont be disappointed, most campsites are very close with lake viewa
You can buy bassic food from the store.
My family and i went in the water it was fine, Theres just a lot of moss and stuff floating around.. I wouldn't recommend putting your whole head under water though and definitely get water shoes
Yes, all thought I didn't, our friends did and said it was very nice.
Anytime M-Th. Opens at 6, closes @9 I am a previous employee, I do not recommend Cleghorn for swimming. The water can be more stagnant and there are more likely to be leeches. After entry @ $10/vehicle , I recommend staying on Sawpit Canyon Road and parking either in the Marina parking which is near the boatlaunch parking and go on the main beach where there will be a life guard. If you bring your own grill, propane only. Otherwise, grills are available in the picnic area, behind the swim beach. First come, first serve. Although the summer season is coming to an end, if you are coming on a Saturday or Sunday, I recommend that you arrive early before 10 a.m. if you want to ensure parking. If parking is no longer available near the marina, you will still be able to access the beach from parking lots 1 2 and 3. Good luck!
There are many Forest roads you can ride on outside of the park. You can park at the dam or pilot rock staging area and ride.
And
yes
they have life guards, I dont know the actaual distance but some of the camp sights are pretty close
The area around Silverwood is the San Bernardino National Forest. There are many Forrest roads you can ride on.
It's $10 per car load to park
I actually wondered that as well, thanks for the answer.
Cool thanks. Is it far up in the hills?
You can tow one inflatable at a time. You can only tow in the main part of the lake, out by the dam, not by the swim areas.
Maybe (slowly) in the campground or between the campground and the lake, but there is no open area set aside for it.
$ 10 per car
Yes, but have to walk in from locked gate. Gates open from 6am to 9pm right now. Can also park at dam or fire access road and hike in as long as you got a forest adventure pass for your car. Few videos on YouTube as well.
Dogs are fine. Must be leashed (have seen multiple times where dogs ran no leash but also no rangers in site) and pick up after them. Walk in in certain areas for free. Usually hikers come via Pacific Crest trail and will pitch a tent after gate is locked on one side. They actually have camp sites for hikers and bikers that have the shortest walk to the lake opposite side of lake from lot 6/cleghorn. No power, second set of bathrooms are pretty close with showers that run on quarters. Place is fairly clean and well kept. And usually has a camp host somewhere on property. Usually best to have reservations. But they usually have a few sites as a first come first serve. And if you want to keep site, have to be there early to pay to reserve the site the next day they open. Believe me, you can also be beat out by other campers at 6am. I was second in line, had to jump to other site for a night. Currently open at 6am-8pm at the booth, 6am - 9pm park hours. Can pull in after hours and pay.
Camping is permitted sites offer restrooms trash bins near and really the water isn't that close but you can hike down to the waters edge with ease
Every camp site has a fire pit, charcoal bbq, and table.
Leshed and your good. Lot 6 most sand besides beach on other side. Lot 6 is less crowded, can also find some corse sand on other side of jet ski and boat rental.
If there are tables and grills, and if you like you can bring your grill tables and chairs.
