I want to go with my 2 dogs..are dogs allowed in the lake? R dogs even allowed? And can someone just show up and pay the fee or you need reservations?

Dogs are fine. Must be leashed (have seen multiple times where dogs ran no leash but also no rangers in site) and pick up after them. Walk in in certain areas for free. Usually hikers come via Pacific Crest trail and will pitch a tent after gate is locked on one side. They actually have camp sites for hikers and bikers that have the shortest walk to the lake opposite side of lake from lot 6/cleghorn. No power, second set of bathrooms are pretty close with showers that run on quarters. Place is fairly clean and well kept. And usually has a camp host somewhere on property. Usually best to have reservations. But they usually have a few sites as a first come first serve. And if you want to keep site, have to be there early to pay to reserve the site the next day they open. Believe me, you can also be beat out by other campers at 6am. I was second in line, had to jump to other site for a night. Currently open at 6am-8pm at the booth, 6am - 9pm park hours. Can pull in after hours and pay.

If you're going to dress fish you have to park your car or your van I have a van conversion to and you perfect about a 3-minute walk to the lake if your docking your boat you have to park it up we're the ones with the trailers are on it if you have any other questions let me know okay

I think you have to be in designated camping spaces. I don't think you can just pitch a tent just anywhere. Not positive though.

Dogs are required to be on a 6 foot leash at all times. You do not need reservations for day use. If you are camping it's very helpful to make reservations. The campgrounds fill up fast on weekends and holidays.

Dog are allow. They aren't allow in the lake but seen some dog in the lake before. But you can take them to the lake with you, there not suppose to go into the water, but like I said I've seen dog in the lake. No reservations needed. Need place to go. Hope I help out with your question.

Another question ..I have a conversation van..can I pull up close to the lake? Or I have to park my van somewhere and make the walk?
