Great location for seeing the Hollywood sign and hiking up from the hills below. Great views of the city landscape and really nice houses in the hills area. Up at the top, when the observatory is open, there are tours to see the telescopes and learn about the area, however, this is not open every day and sometimes is closed for private events. Park down in Griffith park and walk the mile up to the observatory on a dirt path (can also walk to the sign from there). There is a water bottle filling station at the observatory to the right of the parking lot when facing away from the observatory.

Amazing sights. The actual observatory wasn't open when were there but all the viewing areas were worth it. Definitely a sight worth seeing in California. Parking was decently expensive but it was still a really unique experience. Great place to see the Hollywood sign!

Beautiful!!! Want to spend quality time with friends or family? With over 4,300 acres of gorgeous natural green space, Griffith Park is one of Los Angeles’ best attractions. It is the largest public park in the US, and boasts a huge variety of exciting activities, sights, and attractions, with every single member of the family catered for, from youngest to oldest. Bordered by the LA River to the north and east and the Hollywood Hills to the west. To the south is the epic landscape of Beachwood Canyon and the park is one of the most picturesque spots that the City of Angels has to offer. The view is one of its best features, with a stunning panorama offering a bird’s-eye vista of pretty much the entire city. It’s a wonderful place to get out of the hustle and bustle of LA life, take a breath, and get back to nature!

Griffith Park is a beautiful area. The drive includes gorgeous homes and scenic nature. I specifically went to see the observatory and wasn't disappointed. There are some minor issues currently, including the tesla coil and other various attractions being out of order when I went. There are plenty of hand sanitizing stations around all the attractions and they provide free masks. The observatory requires vaccination cards and you're not allowed to take in any food or drinks. I would also like to comment on the parking. There are very few disabled parking spots and the signs are a bit confusing. There's lower parking that requires a lot of walking. It's very hard to turn around in that area as the road leads down the mountain. The upper parking is better but costs $10 per hour currently. Overall I had a wonderful time with my friends and enjoyed taking photos and interacting with the displays. I only wish some of the bigger attractions were in working conditions. Better disabled parking directions would be appreciated too.

There is an observatory with a cool free exhibits and the Autry museum of the american west. As well as various events.
As long as they are on a leash I believe. I took my dogs no problem.
There's no restrictions, you can use it in the parks
You can , they do have time posted at entrance.
Please use translation English here. Then you will find the answer
No just make sure you are early so you can pick out a spot that is your prefference .
You can bring your dog but it must be on a leash. I haven't seen many poop stations so I'd bring your own bags, just in case.
There are signs that say you cannot fly drones in griffith park. There's one at the observatory at the top of the circle drive
My son and I live in Phoenix and we just go to LA on vacation, so I'm not so sure about the busses, So I don't really know the city very well so I'm definitely not the authority on this question.
They have a permit program you might want to find on the internet. Or if you want to risk to put a jumper go ahead but the fine is up there.
I mean there is a baseball field that you can play that game at.
You are allowed to go hike if you wear a mask and keep social distance.
Yes you can and when the observatory opens you can walk up there as well.
Yes just bring a good flashlight
my answer might be outdated , but as i recall there wasnt actually a gate or fence to prevent you from doing that. just dont disturb the locals.
Very good
You can check with the Griffith Park visitors center. https://www.laparks.org/ranger/auditorium
Yes has it parking lot every where you want to be museum zoo observatory connected with 3 systems free ways
Entrance is free, but the movies inside require a ticket to be purchased. Also you must pay for parking, sometimes its very difficult to find parking on busy days which requires you to walk a longways
No its the Hollywood Bowl at the entrance and you travel or walk up the Mountain to the peak and it has Griffith Park Observatory. This is a free park and overlooks all of LA. Must See
Well", in an RV i presume you could. Otherwise not really
Griffith Park is free. I'm not sure of parking cost because I catch the Dash Observatory bus (50cent fare) from Vermont/Sunset (you can also catch the same Dash from the Greek Theater parking lot). The park itself is always free. To visit the planetarium show, cost varies between $6 for kids and roughly $15 for adults
Calender is great at GP so is milk..no junos though,so u knaw..go screwdriver sometimes
I have seen public grills placed around the park, I'm sure that means you can grill as you like.
I've been in Korea for a while, so I don't know... it's not helpful...
Not here, there is a park next to the Merry-go-round, for scooter and small children, there is a picnic section right next to the golf course entrance, ai have seen kiddos riding they skate board there, is not a skate park, is more like a canal for rainy days and people use it as place for skating.
Ask the court the public isn't always the correct source of information.
The visit to the park has no cost. However, perhaps there are some attractions for children that have a small price. Excellent place to go with the family.
It is said to be, yes. Google it, there are like five major legends in the park.
Yea the observatory is closed but you have the trails and outside of observatory to enjoy.
The park is open because whenever I go on my walks it is full I think they just do not allow roasts or large meetings but I could call to inform if it is better ok.
Okay for easy and still nice... I'd say start at the carousel . that parking lot is always open and plenty of parking.. Then you can walk around the old L.A. zoo the trails are all Flat a good chunk paved with very little elevation gain and what you do gain you won't notice..(see) Let me knew how that works for you and when you're ready to step it up. I have a few friends of all ages and levels and sizes in a hiking group that hike regularly in the park.. And offer all levels of hiking.. best of all you are not alone.. I do have a few pics of the old L.A. zoo on Google maps too.. There are so many trails that even with a fear of heights you'll feel comfortable..None the less good luck..
The park hours are similar to most parks in Southern California Sun up to Sun down even with Covid restrictions. Certain buildings are closed down due to covid. But the outdoor park should be open.
It was probably the dead animal skin but it's all ok because it has something to do with the learning.
I'm not sure about the train but the pony ride i believe is $5
It's free, but parking near Griffith Park is ten dollars per hour. If you want to enter the planetarium and watch the shows, there is also an additional price which you can purchase inside.
Common city safety precautions: stay away from dark roads/alleys where there are no people, don't show off valuables. If you decide to go at night, bring a good flashlight! Shuttle bus from the red line Metro to get to, or hike Fern Dell, with the flashlight. Shuttle ends at 10:00 pm, that's when I'd be gone, too.
it's a nice park, trees grass museums and a zoo, even an observatory, and golf course.
I don't no
there are different hikes, with different durations actually
Light of valkyries every Tuesday/Friday at12:45 pm and 4:15 pm Saturday-Sunday 10:45 and 3:15 . Closed at mondays For more information go to griffithobservatory.org
Yes you can...but only on designated areas, right by the Mary go round area there's a few pits n benches
Yes, if you want to go to the observatory I suggest you get there early to catch a parking space, if not they have shuttles. Same if you're just going for a hike, theres a lot more parking by the merry go round, but again that depends where you going at Griffirh Park. But yes, theres parking.
Let's not forget it also has a botanical garden and lots of amazing hands-on shows at various times. I have a membership and often just go for lunch and hang out.
She might run into some snakes with cottonmouth...she better take a nunchuk and some wobegon hobegon spray to fend off the eviI wretched forces of the brown aired hills of despair
Hey there Cine, the pony rides are $5 each. See https://www.griffithparkponyride.com/ and be well.
Like I said you have to call LA Parks and Recreation dept.
For that you have to contact Los Angeles Parks and Recreation dept since they are in charge of it. I don't see why not.
Look, the Hollywood sign itself is inaccessible entirely. Has been for decades. You can walk to a ledge above it, but be prepared to hike for an hour minimum, uphill. It was never really a tourist attraction, more like a billboard stuck in the side of a cliff. Was never meant to be seen up close.
Yes watch Sam and Colby they are you tubers who might fake it all but it seems realistic enough and they go to the table
The park is beautiful and like any where else you have to exercise caution and good judgment. I also haven't heard anything bad happening in the park
Yes, they are!
Seems from every one experience there is no
You must pay for the school and for parking is requisto. At least you only pass in passing if you can not enjoy the landscape but not 100%. It is worth the walk although pages for the already mentioned. You'll love it!
No
It's TRUE. Every Halloween each year since there has been reports of people seeing ghost like images at that table, and hearing strange noises. It's been suggested that people avoid that area for their own safety.. just recently a young couple decided to picnic at that very same table. Their drinks mysteriously all tipped over on their own and their small dog vanished.
That's the problem
r
We went to the night to see the sights and lights of the city, it was open
Hiking the hill and the outside platforms are free. When I went, I did not pay for parking but parking is limited. Carpooling is recommended. There is a fee for the shows inside the museum but some of the displays do not have a fee. There is a deli and gift shop as well with affordable snacks and drinks for the average person touring the area. The photo opps of the landscape are tremendous. Griffith Observatory is a must see for the outdoors, astronomy, or Hollywood fan looking for an inexpensive way to spend the afternoon and get some exercise.
When the sky is clear in the evening the Observatory sets up telescopes for public to view through.
There's rumors surrounding this location but there are no confirmed reports of this place being haunted,. If you follow the hiking trail to the Hollywood sign, theres a lot of history of hauntings there
Oh people hike up to the observatory from fern dell after hours. They're not supposed to, but they do.
It's free but they have paid displays for $ 7 for adults, I do not remember kids
No
Well I went hiking behind the old zoo last week and didn't hear anything bout upcoming event but was told that u can enter there. But has interesting graffiti work.
I never be in summer because is hot....try go in April may and maybe September October and November before cool...to joint the view
No you cannot it is a park. It is daily not overnight. The park Rangers would ask you to leave if they seen you trying to camp out there.
You can easely find a parking on streets nearby.
If they are going to meet at a table set aside from the observatory, there is no problem. But near the observatory it is very difficult to find parking
On a tourist information office i suppose but there is lot of trails in griffith park and maybe there is a rangers office
If it costs not so much but the vehicles. Free
Which one?
If you want to watch the show then you have to pay from $3 to $7. Otherwise it is free
Free unless you are at the Observatory. 8 dollars an hour to park and shows charge a fee.
Questions like that entail calling the Park officials. ( That's what I'd do, anyways...)
The best way to know is to call Parks and Recreations
Well...the 4,310-acre Griffith Park is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Observatory is open noon - 10 weekdays, 10 - 10 weekends, but closed ALL Mondays. Also parking is free along the roadsides, but in the parking lot close to the observatory it's $4/hr. Just to ket you know, the observatory is VERY crowded during the weekends. Enjoy!
There really are a lot of places to park and it depends which trail you wanted to go on as well. The easy trail that starts on top of the Griffith Observstory is nice and you can park at the top. It is $4/hr.
Or go to there web site 🇺🇸
There is park places on the road. Also there are shuttles and tram which take you to the places.
Fred 62 it's a little drive depending on where you are...but WORTH IT!
No entry ticket. But there's a parking fee that you can only pay using your credit or debit card.
We took some post-wedding pics by the trains that turned out surprisingly well.
Yes Mr. 24 hours
There is no train that runs directly to the park. You must ride the Red line train to Vermont/Sunset and then hop on a Metro Bus. Parking for cars is $4/hr.
Gor u ots always open,sweetheart
They moved the light show into the zoo, they don't do it on Crystal drive anymore
The lights are made inside the zoo
No
Winter it is close at sun down
There are some bar b ques in the Griffith park area..
Not from the fires....so beautiful to see the moon through the telescope
