Okay for easy and still nice... I'd say start at the carousel . that parking lot is always open and plenty of parking.. Then you can walk around the old L.A. zoo the trails are all Flat a good chunk paved with very little elevation gain and what you do gain you won't notice..(see) Let me knew how that works for you and when you're ready to step it up. I have a few friends of all ages and levels and sizes in a hiking group that hike regularly in the park.. And offer all levels of hiking.. best of all you are not alone.. I do have a few pics of the old L.A. zoo on Google maps too.. There are so many trails that even with a fear of heights you'll feel comfortable..None the less good luck..

The trail by the carousel. Which is the Old Zoo Trail. Very wide and some pavement. Flat for the majority of it.
