We love Oceanside because it is very lively and there is a lot to do as far as family time. There are free parking options that require a small walk but nothing too crazy. There are plenty of hotels overlooking the water and restaurants with great views. Our favorite part is the pier where our children love watching people fish. This is a must try city if you haven't been before.

Wonderful long pier full of characters. The fish were biting and the 30 odd fishermen were pulling in mackerel. The stores on the pier are all closed and there is little trash on the pier, but it does have a dirty feel. We only saw one musician and no homeless, but there were a lot of surfers trying to milk a ride out of a flat swell. I'd recommend a stroll on this but if history.

Such fun to walk the pier and people watch!!!! I haven't been to Oceanside in a couple of years and when we got to the end of the pier and I saw Ruby's at the end of the pier was closed down. I was so sad...we had alot of memories there. However Harbor Fish and Chips at the Marina quickly became my new favorite and I wasn't disappointed.

This place is so beautiful! There is something for everyone including a playground for the kids, a bike path/ road right next to the beach to walk, bike to drive by. There is also a fishing pier, a dock for boating and the sunsets is just gorgeous as well! We spend 6 days here with family and couldn’t literally walk anywhere right from the beach!

Yes.. hard going up or down the incline so take help.
You don't need a license to fish off a pier
You can park for free after a certain time.
If there is a curfew I didn't know about it. I have been at all hours of the night. It's so hot these days it's the only time I could get my walks in without risking a heat stroke.
that's a government question that can't be answered here.
$5 per hr to rent pole. Discount for longer. Don't know cost of bait.
No
I've seen several musicians at the pier at night on many occasions. It's honestly one of the attractions of the area, in my opinion.
Yes, several rentals, chairs surfboards, bikes etc.
Walking the pier is the only way unless you brought your swim trunks.
I have never seen anyone get ticketed for having their dog on the beach but I would assume that the ticket would be between $75 and $150. It really shouldn't be that much. I used to run along the beach with a police officer and his canine. When I lived in Oceanside a few years ago.
Yes! The Pier is open daily since June 9th. Hours are from 4am-10pm. The Oceanside Pier Bait Shop is open but Ruby's at the end is not open yet.
I am not that is legal to do off the pier.
Huh??
They have pay machines in the parking lot that charge by the hour or the whole day and they have discount prices if you are handicapped..
We did not see this while we were there last weekend.

No we are not allow to sleep over beach for anything
There is no guide services. But the boards are bolt and clear
Parking is not overnight but you may be able to purchase overnight parking at the metrolink station that only about a block away

The harbor, across from the police station area/ at the canoe and kayak docks is often full of them.
There is a Ruby's Restaurant on the pier that has good food and affordable pricing. There are also several good mobile vendors on the sidewalk near the beach, and there is a park with locations for barbecuing on the south side of the beach.
Oceanside station for bus transportation, and free parking
Definitely before 8. People are arriving as early as 6.
Yup. Get there early though. 10-midnight
Sorry, no
Yes no fishing license needed on any pier
You need to have or load a picture on your Google profile.
I dont believe so, the street parking there is metered and there are pay lots but I dont know how long you can park there. Im sure if you park a block or two down in the neighborhood, you may be able to park overnight.
