Portland Marriott on the downtown waterfront, stayed for an event. What a joke! For an "upscale "hotel, it was really lacking. Not even a desk and chair in the small room, the mattress was old and lumpy, very uncomfortable. Too few of the very thin, worn out pillows. The bathroom had a glass sliding door; It would not close and the entry door opened directly onto a view of the toilet. That could certainly shock an unwitting housekeeper! (What fool thought a glass door on a bathroom would be appropriate anyway?) Wedding guests were scattered over several different floors, but the elevator would only operate with your room key and allowed access only to your own floor, making it impossible to visit or help one another with hair/makeup etc. Worse, parking was charged at $50 per day! We were forced to pay $150 parking for three days, but could not access our own vehicle, but had to call for a valet to bring it each time we wanted to leave. We waited 45 minutes to get our car when we wanted to go out for breakfast. I guess they’re trying hard to keep the homeless junkies out, but it was ridiculously inconvenient and costly. Internet access, which is free in the lowliest of motels, costs $15 per day. I recommend staying somewhere outside the downtown area, which is ruined with homeless camps and a serious lack of parking. We've stayed at Quality Inns with better amenities at half the cost.

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This web site will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! Excellent service and stay! All those we interacted with on the Marriott team were incredibly kind, competent, and helpful. Our room was comfortable (great bed!), clean, and the view was beautiful. We were particularly impressed with the customer service provided by Aurelio in the M Club. Definitely recommend a stay here! We’ll be back!

Had another great stay and decided to leave a review about my fantastic river view room. Pros: Great staff, clean and updated rooms, nice on-site dining options, great location, Great M lounge breakfast. The fitness center is large, well-lit, and has well maintained equipment. The valet service is prompt. Cons: The rooms are updated but small by todays standards. The M lounge is sad and empty in the evening, with just a cash bar. Any hotel with a lounge, should have at least beer and wine for a couple of hours. The manager said they are working on the M lounge situation so I look forward to that during my next stay.

I’ve been staying at the Marriott Waterfront in Portland about every other week for a few months for work. Every aspect of the hotel experience is excellent. The valet drivers are great, the front desk staff are nice, the restaurant staff are attentive, the food is good, the amenities are solid, and the rooms are wonderfully quiet. All around great experience each trip.

Yes, but it's not free. It's $14 one way. Discount for round trip. Sometimes there is a wait and the shuttle might make additional stops. But it's the most inexpensive way to get to and from the airport. It's called Blue Star.
