Positive: It is an old Elks lodge turned hotel and had great art. Negative: The food was horrible and the drinks were over priced. There was a man roaming the secured floors knocking on doors ours included. Our terrace fire pit would not turn on and when we called the front desk there was no answer, several times and it was830p

Very interesting place. Consider this before you go, examine architecture carefully before booking. I liked the vibe and each corridor had something fascinating (because it appealed to me). Don't expect natural light filled areas and brightly colored walls. Expect something rustic & more of a Your Grandfather's Man Cave vibe. Worked for me! See pics of the room, bathroom, & corner table. Great service by the way from valet to front desk. I took some time to explore, although the place was a little dead (covid, duh), it was fun. Like I said, INTERESTING place for sure. Go see.

Stayed here end of January, 2020. PLEASE MIND THE BIG CONSTRUCTION GOING ON AND IT WILL BE THIS WAY FOR A WHILE. Other than that, this is a really great and special hotel. One that stands out among many in downtown Portland. From the facilities to the location, you can tell other guests and reviewers were mostly happy. The rooms are super classy and spacious too. What's a little crazy is that the most friendly staff members of this hotel were the porters; representing the wonderful people of Portland. The desk folks were definitely a little more on the "sales friendly" side and it caught me off guard to feel this way when I gave honest feedback on certain experiences. Among many places I have stayed in Portland in the past couple years, this place deserves at least 3.5 stars if not 4. But as stated, even with a great hardware, if the software don't match up, it's one disappointing product... and in this case, how could they mess up the lovely PEOPLE of Portland? I hope the Sentinel can improve on staff interaction as well as housekeeping details.

Gorgeous room, though ours was a bit small. Charm of the old hotel with modern accommodations. Husband and I went on an anniversary stay-cation and had a great time! Stuff was friendly and accommodating. Aesthetic was beautiful, and the bar downstairs was a great late night/date night vibe. Starbucks off the lobby was also welcomed in the morning!

Maybe, but you could more quickly and easily jump on the MAX and ride it straight to the main terminal
