Beautiful grounds with plants and trees from around the world. Their augmented reality art exhibit added art and music to the gardens. It was a little tricky to use, but we got to see all but one. The lookout tower offered great coastal and inland views. Well worth the time and a relaxing way to spend a few hours.

We loved visiting this botanical garden. They had an orchid exhibit when we went, and it was worth going to see that alone. It's much larger than I anticipated, and there are so many different flowers and plants to see.

Amazing place, lots of beautiful Mediterranean plants and trees! Download the app, it helps and there is an interesting exposition using augmented reality (AR). Easy to walk, about two hours walk, bring water you’ll need it in a sunny day.

The reviews and ratings don't lie! What a beautiful place to be. We came to see the magnificent corpse flower. We had an amazing experience. The garden is tended to by many friendly and knowledgeable employees. Not only it's a food for soul, but the garden is also kid friendly. There's plenty of places to run, discover and even a few play structures. Definitely coming back and recommend!

Yes with proof of residency. ID or piece of mail. Enjoy!
I checked, no dogs allowed. To bad, it would be a great place to take them for a walk.
We saw many volunteers in the garden, but I don't know about internship. I suggest you'll call the garden's office.

It never rains in Southern California. 😆. But I would imagine it would be open if it did , still best to call to be sure
There are a couple on the west side of the 5 closer to the beaches. If you search for hotels in Encinitas though, almost all of them will be within a 10 minute (or much less) drive of the botanic garden. You can even stay down in San Diego which will be about a 30-45 minute drive up along the 5 to get there.
Yes, it's open 9am - 5pm everyday, re-entry is not charged.
No bike trails, lots of walking trails though
Yes , a public bus runs through Encinitas, near the garden
No! It’s at the entrance on Quail Gardens Drive

Yes
We didn't pay until arrival and we were late to the reservation. They said it was no big deal when called about being late. I would assume that they would have no issues with a refund if you paid in advance. Sorry that I can't offer a definitive answer 😅
I dont think show I'd double check the website or call ahead of time just to make sure
Probably allowed, so long as leashed. Take note it is EXTREMELY hot and the pathways may be harmful to their paws.
Not sure I stayed at the Double Tree in San Diego
Parking is included. You actually pay your admission fee when you drive into the parking lot.
Also, if you go to the garden and are unsure whether you want to pay for membership, they let you pay the day rate for your visit, and then allow you to convert to annual membership before you leave that day
No unfortunately but still beautiful my 2 year old loved it
The lights at Christmas are very well done. Spring is pretty with flowers blooming. Summer can get hot. There is a cute children's garden.

Throughout the year. It's easier to ask when it is not a good time, and I would imagine during the winter. Understand, they have music and entertainment, so if you look up specific dates you can maximize your experience by compounding it with a nice musical ensemble or event. I would look at the Web site, but things are always in bloom. You will have a different experience depending on when you go. They usually close around 4 or 5 but sometimes stay open late. Give yourself two hours and you won't have to rush. The hours are posted.
