We got our dog here! Out of the 6 shelters we visited over the last few months this one was the best. The animals are well kept, frequently walked, clicker trained (!!!) and they took a very good history/assessment from us and made sure we knew what we were getting into with our girl. I 100% trust this place and if I were to adopt again this would be my first choice. Our dog is just as they described behaviorally and I'm glad they took so much time getting to know her. She is making strides every day and is a wonderful companion.

The only place to get a furry friend. You are able to bring an existing pet to see if they are compatible. Training on site. Smart staff. You'll receive medical records and what and when the next shots are due. Chip, tag, coupons you can really use and information on veterinarians and food. Please donate. Thank you.

These people really care about the dogs and make sure you're a good fit with your new best friend for life. We couldn't have found a better BFFL and Freddy saw that we'd be interested in him. Great going and we'll be back! Takoda says Thank you too!! Update 7/24/21. Fenix Rescue AC from Obregon Mexico is here this afternoon and I had to make sure to bring some Karma to repay their good deeds. I follow Rancho Coastal HS AND Rescate Fenix AC now and contribute what I can, when I can. Today was beds and meds... And a little something to make sure they get home more efficiently. If you follow Rancho Coastal, try finding a little space in your time for Fenix Rescue AC, called Rescate Fenix AC in their home... And make a sorely needed donation. Thank you for reading and caring. πΎπ€πΊπ²π²π½

This is Reggie! We got him about a month ago, and he is amazing! The office staff helped walk us through a nice socially distance meeting with our dog, and Andrew really took the time to ensure a safe first meet! I'd take half a star because he had a cold when we got him but our vet offers a FREE visit with his adoption and they chipped & licensed him- so 5 stars! Thanks for our handsome man!! EDIT!! Reggie got himself skunked his first week...at midnight. STILL 5 STARS! π

I believe that you can. I took my young niece many times just to visit and look at all the animals, prior to the pandemic, but not recently. I would call first to ask what their policy is now.
Hi Douglas, RCHS is not a kill shelter. NO euthanasia for time or space - the animals can stay there as long as needed to find their forever home.
Yes. Donations can be left in the front donation bin. Call ahead for perishables and large drop offs and for when they're closed. Crews there during the day, every day to ask for help.
Hi Kim, We do not provide that service, unfortunately. We only spay/neuter the animals in our care that are up for adoption. Your best bet would be to contact your vet. There is also a group called SNAP (Spay Neuter Action Project)- which might be an option for you. Best of luck! RCHS Team
Most likely. They are happy to find people who want an animal.
Get Pawsitive Dog Training. On Requeza next to Rancho Coastal Humane Society. RCHS uses their method to train dogs. It's awesome.
A lot of people start by volunteering, walking the animals, cleaning cages, organizing donations etc. Once you've got your foot in the door you'll find out what classes you can take to help you. Vet tech, animal behavior... Good luck my fellow animal lover! See you there and see you soon! π
Yes 11am to 4pm, wed thru Monday, closed on Tuesdays.
You have to talk to the owners and see if they'll surrender the dog. This is where tha ASPCA handles these cases. Call them.
I believe they do.
Yes they graciously accept them...monetary, in kind, and lots of fun volunteer opportunities. As all the animals are so well cared for it is just a fun place to visit. They have lots of videos on their website that show off each personality. Rancho is a private humane society so it depends on the generosity of our community.
All lost or stray animals in our area will end up at the North County Animal Services on Palomar Airport Road. Keep going there to look as they are not great with the phones
