Best croissants in San Diego. It’s a toss-up between here and Wayfarer (in La Jolla), but the chocolate and the butter croissants are seriously out of this world!!

First, I should say that we just returned from Paris. While there, we ate pastries every single day, as you do in Paris. Before our trip to France, we were already fans of Isabelle’s pastries. We’ve made life-long friends by feeding people these croissants! We love the food here. So, when we went to Paris we didn’t know what to expect, but we did assume that the French food and pastries would be amazing, and probably far beyond anything we have eaten in the U.S… And the pastries were good, splendid even. We are things we have never seen or heard of before. However, we never found any croissants or staple French pastries that could beat Isabelle’s. They’re still the best!

Great place, great food, great staff! I wish I hadn't forgotten to tip when I picked up my order just now, the young people that assisted me were so kind! Their food is awesome, I only took one star because their Cheese Danishes have fruit on them and I'm very not fond of most fruit so I can't have them. Their chocolate croissants are ENORMOUS, though. Enjoy! And tip!
