Yes. This park and its trails connect into James River Park at Reedy Creek (including Buttermilk Trail). Trails are closer to Riverside Drive, not Forest Hill Road.
Yes, trails run through the park that are part of the James River Park trail system. It's not so easy to say where but one can easily find them once in the park. Also park signs are sure to show trail locations.
