Shady, easy walk along the river. The trail surface is well-maintained and users seem to be good about not littering for the most part. I found parking easy enough.

My husband and I took the most beautiful and peaceful walk.

This is a really great place to go to bring your kayak, canoe, or paddle board. Sometimes the parking lot can be really packed though) especially on a nice summer day falling on a Saturday or Sunday). Parking is free, entry is free, everything is free here since it’s public property. There is a boat launch and access ramp available for use too, which again, can sometimes get congested on a super nice summer day, but it’s not too big of a deal.

Great spot for kayaks or SUPs, no motor boats to contend with and plenty of beach and rocks to hang out on

You definitely can not jump from the Huguenot Bridge .. Probably illegal and beyond that the water isn't deep enough... There are some jumpable Bridges around lake Anna just don't get caught doing it.. Have fun good luck
I have fished from the banks here in the James River. I personally caught small mouth bass and various sun fish.
This is primarily a place to launch canoes, kayaks, tubes, and the like. Not to say you couldn't picnic here, there just aren't very good facilities for it.
Always check River level before floating. You can Google "westham gauge". Anything under 6 feet is safe to float. You will have to hug the North bank to exit on to the portage trail. This gives you access to the River below the dam. Once below the z dam, you will head through pony pasture. there is a series of rapid through there but you can get out certainly before you hit the rapids on the southern Bank which is not far from the parking lot at pony pasture. Or you can float all day and just keep going past powhite
Not at all. Its free to park there and launch and/or fish from shore.
