I would definitely not drive to close. There are alot of roads closed , Its tight everywhere and mainly parking garages. They have scooters everywhere on the sidewalks that you can rent and get around on. You can park and bus in or use Uber .
I agree with others, park outside of town or stay in a campground and uber in. Parking is tight even for a normal sized vehicle. We parked in a parking garage close to the Alamo last night and found a F150 parked in a spot noted for compact cars.
I would stay out of there and Uber in. We paid for parking a few blocks over and had someone hit our van. Ppl will block you in. They do have scooters you can ride. But be careful if you do we rented two and they didn't work because someone damaged them and it wasn't noticed. But the company was notified. Wear comfortable shoes it's a lot of walking. And be prepared for homeless ppl to follow you around, the stench of urine. And overly crowded.
Stay at a campground nearby and drive in. Parking garages available. Enjoy.

Does anyone know if the river walk is under construction and or if any parts of it is closed off?
