Now a days there are a series of water dams up and down the river to control the flow and depth especially downtown. Once a year it is drained for cleaning the junk that is thrown in there and for maintenance. They have found many different things from cannon balls to wedding rings or anything else a drunk person looses when falling in or arguing and throwing it in.
